A nice start clouded up slowly with an increasing F2 south east wind but still nice for a long part of the day. Watches 0600-1000

It was a busier day around the area and while yet again few in number a scatter of migrants remained with a Jack Snipe the standout plus a Cuckoo, 2 Willow Warblers, single Garden Warbler, a Spotted Flycatcher, single Pied Flycatcher, 2 Whinchats, 6 Wheatears and a Blue-headed Wagtail. Other bits saw a Curlew Sandpiper on the Humber, 2 Pale-bellied Brents again by the wetlands, 3 Tufted Ducks on the Humber, 10 Whimbrels still lingering in the area and a Caspian Gull on the wetlands. 

The vismigers had a slightly better varied morning with 5 Barnacle Geese, 2 Lapwings, a Wood Sandpiper, a Great Northern Diver, 3 Spoonbills, a Marsh Harrier, 5 Jackdaws, a Hooded Crow, 28 Sand Martins, 254 Swallows, 3 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit and 5 Chaffinches.

A cold cloudy start brightened up later on with a cool wind.  Watches 0600-1000

The trickle of south bound migration continued today seeing 2 Marsh Harriers, 28 Sand Martins, 226 Swallows, 4 House Martins, 4 Flava Wagtails and 10 Goldfinches. 

The lack of grounded migrants continued but did included a Firecrest was at the point while other bits included 2 Willow Warblers, 15 Chiffchaffs, a Garden Warbler, single Whinchat and a Wheatear.

The Black Brant and 2 Pale-bellied Brents made a re-appearance with 366 Brent Geese around the wetlands area with also 2 Greenshanks and a Yellow-legged Gull.

A cold start with a light wind picking up later on with plenty of sunshine to be. Watches 0530-1000

A Wood Lark south from Sammys to the Warren where it lingered was the days highlight before it headed south was the best of another quiet vismig with just 6 Sand Martins, 131 Swallows, a Tree Pipit and 12 Goldfinches. 

Migrants were well scattered and few in number but included a Grasshopper warbler, single Spotted Flycatcher, a Redstart, single White Wagtail and a wandering Corn Bunting. The Brent Goose reached 950 as is typical before they begin their migration out east.

A cold day with a raw F6 northerly wind with it slowly brightening up in the afternoon after a few showers. Watches 0700-1000. 

A change to cooler northerlies did little for migration with the most noteable migrants being a female Pied Flycatcher at Kew, single Garden Warbler in Kilnsea, a Black Redstart at westmere farm, 5 Wheatears and a Mistle Thrush while a Wood Sandpiper and Barancle Goose flew south. .

The sea had very little to offer bar an Arctic Skua, single Manx Shearwater, 40 Guillemots and 94 Large Auk sp though 64 Arctic Terns flew out east..

Light winds and sunny spells was the order of the day.  Watches 0600-1000, 1120-1220 

A Red-rumped Swallow by the Bluebell apparently flew south when there was some increase in the vismig including 18 Carrion Crows, 357 Swallows and 3 House Martins.

Kilnsea wetlands had a Wood Sandpiper and Spoonbill plus 18 Avocets, a Common Sandpiper and a Greenshank.

A cloudy morning brightened up in the afternoon with a moderate breeze.  Watches 0650-0935.

The day saw a nice scatter again of migrants but again in low numbers including 2 Garganey on canal scrape, a male Pied Flycatcher at chalk bank, 10 Willow Warblers, 39 Sedge Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, a Redwing, 2 Fielkdafres, a Ring Ouzel, 2 Black Redstarts, a Redstart, 3 Whinchats, 11 Wheatears and 2 Siskins plus a Little Stint on the Humber and a Hobby blogging the area. 

A trickle of movement included a Red Kite, 4 Jackdaws, 13 Rooks, 54 Swallows, 5 Flava Wagtails and a Tree Pipit with 2 Arctic Skuas ans 2 Arctic Terns out east.

There was nowhere near the excitement of the previous day with a small arival of 6 Spotted Flycatchers new for the year. Also today were a Whinchat in Holderness field, at least 6 Common Sandpipers in the area and a Great White Egret at beacon ponds. The Black Brant was still lingering with the Brent flock.

Sunny spells but mostly cloudy especially afternoon onwards with an increasing wind and rain in the late evening.  Watches 0645-1200.

A brilliant day around the area with several good  birds. A male Red-footed Falcon at Sammys eventually flew off north west where a Nightingale was singing in the 2nd paddock and a red Curlew Sandpiper on the Humber here too. The vimiggers had a immature Montagu's Harrier and Red-rumped Swallow along with a Red Kite, 433 Swallows, 64 Sand Martins, 49 Flava Wagtails, 2 Tree Pipits, a Hooded Crow, 29 Carrion Crows and a Great White Egret while a 'flock' of unseen Bee-eaters passed over.

The point chipped in with a Wryneck on the parade ground, a Pied Flycatcher was at Kew, 2 Redstarts (both males) in Easington, 4 Wheatears, 7 Fieldfares and Hawfinch in Easington while a Little Stint on beacon ponds.

Sunny spells with some cloudy periods and a lightish wind.  Watches 0700-1000, 1150-1255 

Highlights from today saw a Nightjar roosting in the churchyard and a Wryneck by the ringing hut in churchfield which then flew off west. Also in the area was a lingering Osprey, a Hooded Crow (or hybrid) in Easington, a female Goldeneye on the Humber. Migrant numbers remained simlar again with  5 Willow Warblers, 14 Chiffchaffs, 21 Sedge Warblers, a Ring Ouzel, single male Redstart, a female Whinchat, 5 Wheatears, 9 Yellow Wagtails, a White Wagtail and Tree Pipit around the area. 

Some movement overland saw 15 Swifts, 130 Sand Martins, 599 Swallows, 8 Flava Wagtails, 19 Chaffinches, 33 Goldfinches and 12 Siskins head south with 36 Arctic Terns and a Little Gull out east.

Bright and sunny with a stiff swinging wind.  Watches 0630-1030

The Hawfinch was still present around the area but there were fewer grounded migrants among the breeders including a Mistle Thrush, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Ring Ouzels, a Stonechat and 11 Wheatears while a Hobby hunted the area..

Some small movement occured including a Goosander, 6 Swifts, 78 Swallows, 2 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, 10 Goldfinches, 4 Siskins and a Yellowhammer. Heading out east were 4 Curlews, 8 Bar-tailed Godwits, 2 Dunlins and a single Arctic tern.

Bright and sunny with a cold stiff F6 north east wind. Watches 0630-1000

Migrant numbers were similar to the previous day but a change in species involved included a Wood Sandpiper in well field, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 7 Willow Warblers, 23 Chiffchaffs, 22 Sedge Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, 2 Goldcrests, a Redwing, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Black Redstarts, a Stonechat, 9 Wheatears, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a Brambling, single Hawfinch on the feeders at Kew and a male Crossbill at Sammys. There were fewer birds heading east out the Humber with just 8 Arctic Terns, 2 Little Gulls and an Arctic Skua where a lone Whooper Swan sat on the mud in the morning,. 

The wetlands area held much the same again the Black Brant and Pale-belleid Brent, 150 Brent Geese, 5 Wigeons, 12 Teal, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank.

A cloudy start slowly brightened up with a cold stiff wind.  Watches 0650-1030

The morning saw some decent east bound traffic including 108 Arctic Terns and an Arctic Skua but the same winds good for them were poor for any southbound movements with just 25 Swallows and a Brambling of note. There was a scatter of grounded migrants around the area with 11 Willow Warblers, 25 Chiffchaffs, 5 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, 2 Goldcrests, a Mistle Thrush, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Whinchats, 14 Wheatears and Yellow Wagtails.

The Black Brant and single Pale-bellied Brent remained in the wetlands area plus 5 Avocets, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank.

A cloudy start cleared quickly leaving clear skies until the afternoon when it clouded over again and the wind picked up. Watches 0630-1030, 1330-1430

A nice mixed day with an increase in grounded migrants and some southbound movement. A Red-rumped Swallow topped the billing as it headed south ligering along the peninsula while the years 1st Wood Warbler entertained at Sammys. Other counts included 12 Willow Warblers, 17 Chiffchaffs, a whopping 46 Sedge Warblers, 6 Reed Warblers, single Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Blackcaps, 2 Garden Warbler, 10 Lesser Whitethroats, 42 Whitethroats, a Redwing, single Redstart, 2 Whinchats, 15 Wheatears, 4 Yellow Wagtails, a Water Pipit on Kilnsea wetlands and 2 Redpolls. 

There was some decent movement but again not in any big numbers with 11 Arctic Terns out east, 2 Great White Egrets, a Red Kite, 15 Rooks, 10 Carrion Crows, 39 Sand Martins, 263 Swallows, 5 House Martins, 9 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, single Corn Bunting and aYellowhammer. 

The wetlands again had the Black Brant, 3 Little-ringed Plovers, 3 Common Sandpipers and 2 Greenshanks.

A cloudy start brightened up becoming a nice day albeit with a cool F2 north east wind.  Watches 0630-1000

The first Whinchat of the year was along the peninsula among a small increase in migrnats and breeders including 6 Willow Warblers, 20 Chiffchaffs, 17 Sedge Warblers, 2 Grasshopper Warblers, 10 Lesser Whitethroats, 46 Whitethroats and 6 Wheatears while a nice flock of 6 Great White Egrets flew north west up the Humber.

A nice mainly sunny day after a cold start with a light frost and light north east winds that picked up slightly in the afternoon.  Watches 0645-1000

It was almost a repeat of the previous day but a touch more varied for the vimiggers which saw 60 Arctic Terns head out east while heading south 2 Marsh Harriers, a Red Kite, 7 Jackdaws, 63 Rooks, 6 Carrion Crows, 2 Sand Martins, 226 Swallows, 5 House Martins, 17 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit and a Redpoll. 

Grounded migrants again featured albeit no big counts of any species but included 29 Sand Martins, 5 Willow Warblers, 2 Grasshopper Warblers, a Garden Warbler, single Redwing, 2 Black Redstarts, a Redstart, 5 Whaetears, 2 Yellow Wagtails and a White Wagtail. 

Thw wetlands area held a nice selection of species with the Black Brant, a Pale-bellied Brent, 11 Gadwalls, 5 Wigeon, 25 Teal, 2 Little-ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers and 2 Greenshanks.
