A breezy north westerly with variable amounts of cloud and the odd sunny spell. Watches 0615-1000

A reduction in grounded migrants across the area but the female Red-backed Shrike at the point and the elusive Barred Warbler in canal hedge remained plus totals of 21 Willow Warblers, 2 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, 25 Whitethroats, 8 Spotted Flycatchers, 17 Pied Flycatchers, 7 Redstarts, 6 Whinchats, 10 Wheatears, 22 Yellow Wagtails and just 3 Tree Pipits while a ringtail Hen Harrier lingered at chalk bank. Beacon ponds chipped in with a Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshanks, 6 Curlew Sandpipers, a Purple Sandpiper, 2 Little Stints, 2 Short-eared Owls and a Merlin with singles of Caspian Gull and Yellow-legged Gull around the area. 

Some light movement included 15 Swifts, 3 Arctic Skuas, 4 Red-throated Divers, an Osprey, 4 Common Buzzards, 277 Swallows and 48 Tree Sparrows.

Cloudy with a moderate wind thunder storms late in the evening. Watches 0620-1030

Fresh arrivals boosted the sightings for today while some drop offs on commoner migrants including a Greenish Warbler at the point where the female Red-backed Shrike remained, a fantastic total of 4 Barred Warblers (point, canal hedge, sykes field, Easington), a Dotterel in fields just north of long bank with Golden Plovers and a Cattle Egret in the clubleys/triangle area. Other tallies included 41 Willow Warblers, 8 Reed Warblers, a Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Garden Warblers, 7 Lesser Whitethroats, 61 Whitethroats, 14 Spotted Flycatchers, 39 Pied Flycatchers, 12 Redstarts, 18 Whinchats, 18 Wheatears, 11 Yellow Wagtails, 13 Tree Pipits, a Bullfinch and 16 Siskins. 

Ringing 1 Blue Tit, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 13 Willow Warbler, 4 Sedge Warbler, 4 Reed Warbler, 4 Garden Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, 1 Blackbird, 4 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Tree Pipit, 41/11 Quiz in the Crown& Anchor in aid of the Obs raised £200 in the evening

A benign start before rain set in for a short while and then the F5 south westerly wind picked up. Watches 0615-1430

Yet again a fantastic day around the area which saw new arrivals including a Wryneck by the riverside, a female Red-backed Shrike at the point, 2 Wood Warblers, 92 Willow Warblers, 13 Sedge Warblers, 11 Reed Warblers, a Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Garden Warblers, 2 Barred Warblers, 6 Lesser Whitethroats, 29 Whitethroats, 18 Spotted Flycatchers, 51 Pied Flycatchers, the Black Redstart still at the point, 14 Redstarts, 16 Whinchats, 51 Wheatears, 16 Tree Pipits and 39 Siskins. 

A good mixed day of movement over the sea and land with a Pale-bellied Brent in/off, 9 Shovelers, 6 Pintails, a Wood Sandpiper, 9 Snipe, 22 Knot, 9 Black Terns, 4 Little Gulls, 2 Great Skuas, 2 Arctic Skuas, a Great White Egret, 4 Common Buzzards, 40 Sand Martins, 403 Swallows, 34 House Martins, 44 Meadow Pipits and 3 Reed Buntings. Full counts om Trektellen.

A dry start with rain moving in by midday til late afternoon and fairly breezy. Watches 0615-1500, 1930-2030

The period of good birding continues with plenty of grounded migrants around the area including 2 Wrynecks, a Wood Warbler, 35 Willow Warblers, 6 Chiffchaffs, 4 Garden Warblers, a Barred Warbler in canal hedge, 7 Lesser Whitethroats, 21 Spotted Flycatchers, 54 Pied Flycatchers, 13 Redstarts, 12 Whinchats, 22 Wheatears, 32 Tree Pipits and 20 Yellow Wagtails.

There was some varied south bound movement including 11 Shovelers, 14 Gadwalls, 49 Wigeon, 15 Pintails, 407 Teal, 37 Swifts, 168 Oystercatchers, 7 Whimbrels, 20 Black-tailed Godwits, 17 Turnstones, 31 Knots, 11 Ruff, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, 3 Red-throated Divers, 2 Great White Egrets, an Osprey, single Marsh Harrier, 5 Kestrels, 13 Yellow Wagtails and 19 Meadow Pipits. 

There were increases in Waders and duck on beacon ponds (and Kilnsea wetlands which aquired some water after overnight thunderstorms) with 6 Shovelers, 2 Pintails, 38 Teal, 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Ruff, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, a Purple Sandpiper, 8 Little Stints and 2 Caspian Gulls.

Bright and sunny with an increasing F5 easterly wind Watches 0615-1000

A good day with a lot of migrants turning up late in the afternoon/evening, sightings from today saw the juvenile Pallid Harrier fly south along the peninsula early morning while an Ortolan Bunting flew north, a Barred Warbler in canal hedge, 2 Rosefinches (obs, gas terminal), 3 Wood Warblers (Church, wetlands, Easington), a Greenish Warbler by the white house, Easington while totals of 33 Willow Warblers, 5 Garden Warblers, 57 Pied Flycatchers, a Black Redstart, 18 Redstarts, 12 Spotted Flycatchers, 22 Whinchats, 17 Wheatears, 5 Tree Pipits and 48 Siskins with a Green Woodpecker in Easington.

Some sunny spells along with some cloudy periods and a stiffening F5 easterly wind. Watches 0615-1000

It was an eventful day around the area with a small but decent arrival of migrants which included some quality starting with a Wryneck in sykes field, trapped a while later, a sometimes showy Greenish Warbler at the potato fields, a Wood Warbler in Easington and an Ortolan Bunting nearby at Sammys in the 3rd paddock while quite late in the day a superb juvenile Pallid Harrier hunted the fields at Sammys. Totals of migrants included a Kingfisher, 16 Willow Warblers, 9 Reed Warblers, 4 Garden Warblers, 9 Lesser Whitethroats, 19 Pied Flycatchers, a Black Redstart, 7 Redstarts, 5 Whinchats, 5 Wheatears, 9 Yellow Wagtails and a Tree Pipit. 

The sea had little to offer bar 91 Teal, 20 Arctic Skaus, a Pomarine Skua, single Great Skua and 2 Manx Shearwaters while the Purple Sandpiper remained at beacon ponds and 2 Caspian Gulls and a Yellow-legged Gull wandered the area. .

A calm start with some sunny spells with the wind picking up slightly later on. atches 0615-1000, 1545-1700

A possible Fea's Petrel flew north but otherwise the sea had few surprises with just 5 Teal, 2 Whimbrels, a Great Skua, 5 Arctic Skuas, a Fulmar, 2 Manx Shearwaters and 122 Gannets while overland a Red Kite blogged the area and 2 Marsh Harriers headed south.

Yet again a scatter of grounded migrants were present including a Cuckoo, 22 Willow Warblers, 10 Reed Warblers, a Tree Creeper, single Pied Flycatcher, a Black Redstart, 2 Redstarts, a Whinchat, 4 Wheatears, 8 Yellow Wagtails and a Tree Pipit.

Other bits included 249 Mediterranean Gulls blogging, singles of Caspian Gull and Yellow-legged Gull plus Purple Sandpiper at beacon ponds.

A breezy morning calming down as the day wore on with plenty of sunshine late on. Watches 0615-1000, 1530-1630

The White-rumped Sandpiper and Purple Sandpiper again on beacon ponds along with a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull while on the Humber 112 Mediterranean Gulls, a Caspian Gull and a Curlew Sandpiper.

The sea was again quiet highlights being 69 Common Scoters, 5 Arctic Skuas, a Great Skua, single Puffin, 2 Manx Shearwaters and 138 Gannets. Yet again a scatter of grounded migrants consisted of 12 Willow Warblers, a Whinchat, 2 Wheatears, 10 Yellow Wagtails and a Tree Pipit.

Heavy showers on and off all day, with the occasional sunny spell but breezy F4 northerly. Watches 0620-1000, 1350-1950.

The sea came to prominence albeit there were no numbers of the usual species expected but several highlights including 2 Cory's Shearwaters heading south 9one lingered for a while off the seawatch hut, 2 Pomarine Skuas, 37 Arctic Skuas, a Great Skua, 4 Manx Shearwaters, 7 Fulmars, 112 Gannets, just 5 Kittiwakes, single Little Gull and 6 Guillemots. Also moving 30 Teal, 23 Common Scoters, 73 Oystercatchers, 5 Whimbrels, 3 Redshanks, 6 Sanderlings and 156 Common Terns.

The ponds area held similar numbers to the previous day with the White-rumped Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2 Greenshanks, 9 Ruff, a Curlew Sandpiper, Purple Sandpiper and Caspian Gull all present among the usuals.

There were few grounded migrants with only Cuckoo and 2 Whinchats of note.

Some torrential showers late afternoon otherwise sunny spells and breezy. Watches 0600-0915, 1845-2015

The ponds area continued with a good selection of species including 12 Gadwalls, 33 Mallards, 5 Little Grebes, 9 Avocets, a Spotted Redshank, single Greenshank,  10 Ruff, 3 Curlew Sandpipers, a Purple Sandpiper, the White-rumped Sandpiper, 22 Little Terns, 40 Common Terns and 2 Short-eared Owls. 

Grounded migrants were still present in decreasing numbers with 5 Willow Warblers, 8 Lesser Whitethroats, a Pied Flycatcher, 2 Black Redstarts, 7 Whinchats, 4 Wheatears and 7 Yellow Wagtails.

Overnight rain with stiff winds stronger as the day wore on and variable amounts of cloud.  Watches 0615-1000

The ponds area was as expected busy again with 12 Gadwall, 14 Teal, 5 Little Grebes, 800 Ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, 300 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshanks, 3 Curlew Sandpipers, 1000 Dunlin, a Purple Sandpiper and the White-rumped Sandpiper. 

There was not much change on the migrant front with similar species present including 8 Willow Warblers, a Garden warbler, 2 Black Redstarts, 4 Whinchats and 2 Wheatears while the best of any vismig saw 14 Wigeon, 5 Teal, 149 Oystercatchers, 5 Whimbrels, 5 Curlews and 14 Knot on the move.

PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY from the fenced area of beach, which is clearly signposted, and respect the wardens on duty. Up to 200 birds are present in the colony and can be viewed well from the flood bank.

A calm day with plenty of cloud about bringing rain in the evening/night and some sunny spells. Watches 0630-1000

Wader counts from the area today included 245 Oystercatchers, 334 Grey Plovers, 910 Golden Plovers, 1914 Ringed Plovers, 23 Whimbrels, 390 Curlews, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, a Green Sandpiper, 692 Redshanks, a Spotted Redshank, 3 Greenshanks, 20 Turnstones, 1717 Knot, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, 451 Sanderlings, 4159 Dunlins and the White-rumped Sandpiper still on beacon ponds. Also in the ponds area 61 Common Terns, 158 Sandwich Terns, 788 Black-headed Gulls, 40 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Caspian Gulls, 42 Little Egrets, a Short-eared Owl, Merlin and Peregrine. 

Grounded migrants were widely scattered but included a Cuckoo, 17 Willow Warblers, a Garden Warbler, 41 Whitethroats, a Pied Flycatcher, single Black Redstart, 3 Whinchats and 3 Wheatears. Some light movement over the sea conntributed 13 Teal, 139 Oystercatchers, 5 |Ringed Plovers, 6 Whimbrels, 3 Turnstones, 3 Sanderlings, 23 Little Gulls and 2 Arctic Skuas.

Sunny spells clouding up later on with a light swinging breeze. Watches 0615-0930

There were some very good Wader counts made during the morning with 357 Oystercatchers, 1257 Ringed Plovers, 11 Whimbrel, a Green Sandpiper, 695 Redshanks, 2 Greenshanks, 2045 Knot, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, 150 Sanderlings, 1730 Dunlin, a Purple Sandpiper and the White-rumped Sandpiper. 

A decrease in grounded migrants included 2 Cuckoos, 15 Willow Warblers, 3 Chiffchaffs, 31 Whitethroats, a Pied Flycatcher, single Black Redstart, 2 Whinchats and a Bullfinch. 

Other bits saw 362 Shelducks on the Humber, 2 Caspian Gulls and 42 Little Egrets around the area.

Polite reminder for all visitors: the Little Tern colony at Beacon Ponds is extremely vulnerable to disturbance. PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY from the fenced area of beach, which is clearly signposted, and respect the wardens on duty. Up to 200 birds are present in the colony and can be viewed well from the flood bank.

Not as hot as it has been but still on the warm side with light northerly winds and some variable cloud. Watches 0615-1000.

A sometimes showy Barred Warbler at the potato fields was the days highlight along with a change in grounded migrants including a Cuckoo, 25 Willow Warblers, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 6 Pied Flycatchers, 9 Whinchats, 2 Wheatears and 4 Yellow Wagtails. 

The White-rumped Sandpiper and 2 Garganey were still present on the ponds plus 2 Common Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, a Purple Sandpiper and 3 Caspian Gulls mobile between here and the Humber.

Another hot day with light winds that veered E by mid-morning and cloud building late on with a spot of rain in the evening. Watches 0615-1200

There was a nice increase in grounded migrants along wih some good totals including 2 Cuckoos, a Wood Warbler, 91 Willow Warblers, a Garden Warbler, 8 Lesser Whitethroats, 49 whitethroats, 15 Pied Flycatchers, a Black Redstart, 2 Redstarts, 15 Whinchats, 3 Wheatears and a Tree Pipit.

There was some limited movement again with 50 Teal, 110 Common Scoters, 2 Ruff, 2 Arctic Skuas, 56 Sand Martins, 456 Swallows, 14 House Martins and 34 Yellow wagtails.

The ponds area again held the 2 Garganey, a Tufted Duck, 2 Common Sandpipers, 500 Redshanks, 2 Greenshanks, a Purple Sandpiper, the White-rumped Sandpiper, a Black Tern, 10 Common Terns and 2 Caspian Gulls. Counts from the Humber included 289 Grey Plovers, 19 Black-tailed Godwits and 625 Ringed Plovers. 

Ringing 1 Blue Tit, 1 Wood Warbler, 36 Willow Warbler, 9 Sedge Warbler, 5 Reed Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 5 Whitethroat, 2 Robin, 5 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Linnet, 67/11.

A hot bright day with cooling F4 south east wind. Watches 0615-1000, 1800-1930

The Caspian Tern made a re-appearance flying south past the seawatch hut while also on the move 51 Teal, 75 Common Scoters, 50 Oystercatchers, 17 Whimbrels, 9 Curlews, a Black Tern, 5 Roseate Terns, 2 Caspian Gulls, 3 Arctic Skuas, 3 Fulmars, 47 Gannets, 39 Sand MaThertins, 237 Swallows, 83 House Martins and 6 Yellow Wagtails. 

Another small but decent arrival of grounded migrants included 9 Willow Warblers, 15 Sedge Warblers, 28 Reed Warblers, 7 Pied Flycatchers, a Redstart, 3 Whinchats, a Wheatear and 3 Yellow Wagtails. The ponds area held the 2 Garganey, 21 Teal, a Tufted Duck, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Green sandpipers, a Ruff, single Curlew Sandpiper, 500 Redshanks, a Greenshank, 1440 Dunlins, a Purple Sandpiper, the usual White-rumped Sandpiper, 300 Little Terns, a Black Tern, 21 Common Terns, 182 Mediterranean Gulls, a Caspian Gull, single Yellow-legged Gull and 23 Little Egrets.

Mostly bright and sunny with a moderate F4 south easterly wind. Watches 0630-1000.

A Caspian Tern flying south over the Humber at the crown and anchor caught a fish continuing on its way was the days birding highlight with tough competition from the lunar side of things. The White-rumped Sandpiper and 2 Garganey were still present on beacon ponds joined by a Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Ruff and 3 juvenile Capian Gulls. 

There was very little movement over sea or land but again a small scater of grounded migrants with 8 Willow Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, a Black Redstart, 2 Whinchats and 7 Yellow Wagtails. 

Ringing 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 10 Reed Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Robin, 23/8 A almost perfect eclipse of the sun happened today around 1915 and was watched by plenty of people at the Crown and Anchor.

A hot day with an increasing wind and variable amounts of cloud. Watches 0615-1000

The White-rumped Sandpiper continued to grace beacon ponds the area also holding 2 Garganey, a Tufted Duck, 2 Greem Sandpipers, 3 Greenshanks, a Ruff, a Black Tern, 4 Caspian Gulls, 2 Yellow-legged Gulls and 15 Little Egrets. 

Some light movement mainly over the sea included 27 Teal, 148 Oystercatchers, 5 Whimbrels, 26 Redshanks, 4 Turnstones, 14 Knot, 29 Dunlins, 4 Manx Shearwaters and 99 Gannets while a scatter of grounded migrants saw 17 Willow Warblers, 2 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, single Black Redstart, a Whinchat and 8 Yellow wagtails and a Kingfisher and 2 Corn Buntings wandering the area.

A male Southern Migrant Hawker was at Kew.

A calm sunny day with variable amounts of cloud and an increasing F2 northerly wind.

A Bee-eater in the triangle then lingering in north field was todays highlight while the American duo of Buff-breasted Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper were again on beacon ponds. Also in the area the 2 Garganey, a Greenshank, single Curlew Sandpiper, 293 Little Terns, a Black Tern, single Roseate Tern, 80 Mediterraean Gulls and 37 Little Egrets.

There was still some decent Passerine interest including 15 Willow Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, 5 Whinchats and 4 Wheatears.

Various amounts of cloud with a light F2 south westerly wind. Watches 0615-1000, 1700-1800.

The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was joined by a White-rumped Sandpiper on beacon ponds while also present 2 Garganey, a Little-ringed Plover, single Green Sandpiper, a Greenshank, 3 Curlew Sandpipers, 345 Little Terns, 2 Black Terns, 80 Common Terns, 158 Sandwich Terns, 18 Little Gulls, 53 Mediterranean Gulls and a Caspian Gull. 

An increase in grounded migrants included 58 Willow Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, 36 Whitethroats, 8 Pied Flycatchers, a Redstart, single Wheatear, a Tree Pipit and a Corn Bunting while a small southbound movement saw 2 Red Kites, 246 Sand Martins, 321 Swallows, 275 House Martins, 2 Yellow Wagtails and 3 Grey Wagtails. .

Bright and sunny modt of the time with an increasing F6 south westerly wind. Watches 0500-0900.

A Buff-breasted Sandpiper was on beacon ponds showing well while the 2 Garganey remained plus a Curlew Sandpiper, single Black Tern, 106 Common Terms, 2 Roseate Terns and 12 Little Gulls while the autumns first Pintail flew south. .

Passerine interest saw an Icterine Warbler found at greenfield bunglaows where the autumns first Pied Flycatcher was also present while a good total of 28 Willow Warblers and 2 Black Redstarts also in area. The Green Woodpecker was still present nearby in Easington.

A brilliant count of 34 Willow Emeralds atthe point.

PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY from the fenced area of beach, which is clearly signposted, and respect the wardens on duty. Up to 200 birds are present in the colony and can be viewed well from the flood bank.

A calm day with light south westerly winds with lengthy sunny spells. Watches 0615-1000, 1630-1720

Sightings from today inluded 2 Garganey, 350 Little Terns, a Black Tern, 101 Mediterranean Gulls a Ruff and 2 Curlew Sandpipers on beacon ponds, Scaup and Roseate Tern past the seawatch hut plus 4 Short-eared Owls in the area.

Passerine interest was limited to 14 Willow Warblers and a Garden Warbler.

Mostly cloudy but with a few sunny spells and a decreasing stiff F6 north west wind. Watches 0500-1000.

The change in wind direction dried up much of the movement and in total contrast to the previous day just 509 Swifts, 106 Oystercatchers, 5 Redshanks, 3 Turnstones, 9 Knot, 3 Sanderlings and 7 Sand Martins. A scatter of grounded migrants did incude a belated Icterine Warbler in Easington, 30 Willow Warblers, a Tree Pipit and a Wheatear.

Thankfully the ponds area remained busy with a Garganey, 12 Gadwalls, 5 Teal, a Little-ringed Plover, singles of Common and Green Sandpiper, a Wood Sandpiper, 2 Ruff, 4 Curlew Sandpipers, a Little Stint, single Black Tern, 2 Little Gulls and a Yellow-legged Gull.

Up to 200 birds are present in the colony and can be viewed well from the flood bank.

Mostly cloudy but with a few sunny spells and a decreasing stiff wind. Watches 0500-1000

The autumns first Wood Warbler appeared at the warren but apart from a Cuckoo, 7 Willow Warblers and a Tree Pipit there were few other grounded migrants while the juvenile Green Woodpecker continued to linger around churchfield. Beacon ponds held the 2 Garganey's, 4 Avocets, 3 Little-ringed Plovers, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Common Sandpipers, a Wood Sandpiper, 5 Greenshanks, 565 Dunlin, 150 Common Terns, 2 Roseate Terns, 300 Sandwich Terns and 18 Mediterranean Gulls.

The vismiggers at last had a varied morning with top billing to the 8049 Swifts flying south with toher totals including 48 Common Scoters, 434 Oystercatchers, 52 Ringed Plover, 24 Whimbrels, 11 Black-tailed Godwits, 21 Redshanks, 21 Turnstones, 52 Knot, 22 Sanderlings, 4 Dunlin, 2 Purple Sandpipers, a Black Tern, juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, single Arctic Skua, a Great White Egret, 111 Sand Martins, 104 Swallows and 69 House Martins.

A calm start that grew stronger to a F3 south easterly as the day wore with plenty of sunshine remaining hot. Watches 0615-1000

There was a good selection of species on offer again around the ponds area with an Egyptian Goose, 2 Garganey, 12 Gadwall, 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Curlew Sandpiper, 1569 Dunlins, a Black Tern, 500 Sandwich Terns, 18 Little Gulls, a Caspian Gull and 22 Little Egrets.

The Green Woodpecker continued to reside in the Kilnsea area, 2 Great White Egrets roosted at westmere farm, a Purple Sandpiper was at the breach but Willow Warblers were down to 4 birds but a Garden Warbler was new in, 

On the move 39 Teal, a Tufted Duck, 9 Eider, 181 Oystercatchers, 22 Whimbrels, a Turnstone, single Arctic Skua and a Fulmar were the best of what little was recorded.

Up to 200 birds are present in the colony and can be viewed well from the flood bank.

A hot day with plenty of sunshine and a few cloudy patces with a moderate south easterly wind.  Watches 0500-1000.

The juvenile Green Woodpecker remained around the area which in itself is a rare event while the 2 Garganey and juvenile Black Tern were still on beacon ponds and joined bya juvenile Caspian Gull while there are now 2 Black Redstarts at the point.

THe vismiggers put in another good shift but saw little with 17 Teal, 130 Common Scoters, 184 Oystercatchers,11 Whimbrels, 10 Turnstones, 3 Knots and 9 Sanderlings.

Partly cloudy with a light wind which swung round by midday. Watches 0630-1000

A juvenile Green Woodpecker very vocal around churchfield maybe the recent bird lingering in the area while there are now 2 Garganey on beacon ponds along with a juvenile Black Tern. Other bits around the area included a juvenile Cuckoo, single juvenile Whinchat at the obs, a wandering Corn Bunting and 18 Willow Warblers around the area. 

Ringing 1 Stock Dove, 1 Wood Pigeon, 6 Willow Warbler, 3 Reed Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Wren, 1 Robin, 16/8 There were a few sore heads this morning after the annual BBQ but a good night was had by all raising over £450 for the Obs. By midday all was cleared away, so a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the night go well and for clearing up afterwards.

Partly cloudy with a gentle wind, a bit chilly. Watches 0615-1000

A Garganey on canal scrape moved to beacon ponds which also held 4 Little-ringed Plovers, a Green Sandpiper, 2 Greenshanks, a Ruff, single Curlew Sandpiper, 300 Little Terns and 2 Short-eared Owls. A juvenile Cuckoo was still about while other Passerine counts included 18 Willow Warblers, 28 Reed Warblers, a Stonechat and single wheatear.

Some light movement again with 3 Teal, 27 Oystercatchers, 3 Grey Plovers, a Ringed Plover, 23 Redshanks, 4 Turnstones, 21 Sanderlings, 23 Dunlin, 21 Kittiwakes, a Great Northern Diver and 44 Gannets while a Red KIte flew south. 

Ringing 1 Cetti's Warbler, 10 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Sedge Warbler, 10 Reed Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 6 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Blackbird, 34/9 The annual AGM was followed by a committee meeting and then the annual BBQ which was attended by around 60 people
