Long sunny spells some high wispy cloud evident along with a F3 southerly.  The quietest day in a while was most noteable for some light passage with highlights of 32 Barnacle Geese north west up the Humber, 14 Brent Geese, 10 Wigeons, a Tufted Duck, 2 Goldeneyes plus a Short-eared Owl in/off. 

A few grounded migrants were still evident with singles of Jack Snipe, Mistle Thrush, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest and Brambling plus 2 Woodcocks, 30 Fieldfares, 20 Redwings and 40 Blackbirds.

After a hard overnight frost the day was pleasantly sunny with light southerly. The 2 Shore Larks continued to find Easington lagoons to their liking while a Long-eared Owl was in chiurch field but little else bar a scatter of Thrushes, 3 Stonechats and a Brambling. 

The best of the sea saw 2 Goosanders and a Great Northern Diver head north.

Rain in the morning slowly cleared in the afternoon with brighter periods and light winds.  Not a lot happening the days highlights of the Black Brant with 400 Brent Geese along beacon lane, a Sooty Shearwater north over the sea with the ponds area having 208 Wigeons, 17 Shovelers, 51 Teal, a Tufted Duck, 2 Goldeneyes and 53 Black-tailed Godwits.

There was no sign of the Humes Warbler after its marathon 8 day stay but a bonus Hawfinch was present dropping into church field plus a Woodcock and Chiffchaff here also while there were just 2 Shore Larks present at Easington lagoons. The ponds area held a Pale-bellied Brent among 600 Brent Geese, 18 Shovelers, 255 Wigeons, a Pintail, 138 Teal, a Tufted Duck and 3 Goldeneyes.

Ther sea yet again saw some light movement with 10 Brent Geese, 34 Common Scoters, a Goosander, 83 Red-throated Divers, 2 Great Northern Divers and 3 Gannets while there was even some overland movement with 66 Starlings, 11 Meadow Pipts, 4 Rock Pipits, 26 Chaffinches, 7 Bramblings, 34 Linnets, a Redpoll, 20 Siskins and a Yellowhammer.

After all the wind and rain today was a warm calm and sunny day with a light westerly.  The sun brought the Humes Warbler out at Kew by the viewing area along with a Chiffchaff with the 3 Shore Larks still showing well at the lagoons. A Brambling in Easington was the only other noteable migrant. 

The Black Brant re-appeared at beacon ponds with 1070 Brent Geese while 19 Shovelers, 300 Wigeon, a Tufted Duck, 2 Goldeneyes and 46 Black-tailed Godwits were worthy of a mention in the same area. The sea did show some promise with 4 Whooper Swans, 27 Teal, 2 Eiders, a Long-tailed Duck, single Goosander, a Great Crested Grebe, 24 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver and 5 Gannets.

More cloudy, wet and windy weather driven on by a F6 southerly.  The 3 Shore Larks were still sometimes elusive around Easington lagoons and the Humes Warbler reported on the pagers in the churchyard to church field area. 

The seawatchers didnt really fair too well in the conditions the best being a Long-tailed Duck, single Great Northern Diver and 17 Gannets.

A wild, wet and windy day with an increasing F6 south easterly driving the heavy rain. The Humes Warbler was suprisingly seen today in the churchyard in miserable conditions while even more suprising was a Willow Warbler removed from the heligoland trap in church field. A more typical Cetti's Warbler was vocal along the canal. 

Other sightings were over the sea which included 13 Wigeon, 25 Mallards, 55 Teal, 20 Common Scoters, 3 Goldeneyes, a Grey Phalarope, a 1cy Caspian Gull and a Gannet.

Early morning snow gave way to a bright sunny day with a cold F4 westerly.  The Humes Warbler showed well in the sheltered garden at Kew with the Chiffchaff for company and the 3 Shore Larks still at Easington lagoons. The sea again had some interest including 11 Brent Geese, 2 Tufted Ducks, 2 Eiders, 7 Velvet Scoters, 44 Common Scoters, a drake Long-tailed Duck, 106 Kittiwakes, 3 Little Auks, 14 Red-throated Divers, a Sooty Shearwater and 25 Gannets. 

Just outside the recording area fields between sammys and skeffling pumping station were busy with 6 Whooper Swans, 150+ Skyalrks, a Shore Lark, 11 Rock Piptis, a Water Pipit, 100+ Linnets, a Twite, 50+ Yellowhammers, 2 Corn Buntings, and 30+ Reed Buntings.Well worth a look if you are passing.

A day of blue skies and sunshine but still cold in the F4 westerly.  The vocal Humes Warbler remained for its fourth day mainy around the churchyard in the company of a Chiffchaff and Goldcrest. There were few other migrants but 4 Woodcocks and 9 Snipe arrived in/off. 

The sea had less birds overall but still some interest with 2 Whooper Swans, 68 Wigeons, 11 Eiders, 45 Common Scoters, 5 Goldeneyes, a Red-breasted Merganser, 246 Kittiwakes, 5 Little Auks and 16 Gannets.

A cold cloudy day with frequent sometimes heavy snow flurries leaving a covering on the ground the sun appearing in the late afternoon plus the F6 north westerly making it feel even cooler.  The Humes Warbler continued to linger in the kew and churchfield area as did the 3 Shore Larks at Easington lagoons but gain the sea produced most of the action with 63 Wigeon, 40 Teal, 3 Eiders, 3 Velvet Scoters, 82 Common Scoters, 6 Goldeneyes, a Purple Sandpiper, 955 Kittiwakes, 202 Common Gulls, 12 Little Auks, 9 Red-throated Divers, a Black-throated Diver single Sooty Shearwater, a Storm Petrel and 44 Gannets. 

A Jack Snipe in/off landed by the seawatch hide providing a nice diversion for cold observers while there were 3 Woodcocks in the triangle.

A cold cloudy day with squally showers and added sleet and a brisk F6 northerly.  The Humes Warbler was still present in the churchyard to the observatory garden area but it was over the sea where the main action was with 17 Wigeon, 26 Teal, 5 Eider, 81 Common Scoter, 4 Goldeneye, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Red-necked Grebes, a Great Crested Grebe, 5 Little Gulls, 3172 Kittiwakes, 140 Common Gulls, a Great Skua, 2 Puffins, 135 Large Auk sp, 15 Little Auks, 49 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Northern Divers, a 'blue' Fulmar, 3 Sooty Shearwaters and 141 Gannets with 150 Redwings and 15 Blackbirds seen battling in/off. 

Elsewhere there were 5 Goldeneyes on beacon ponds, a Jack Snipe at canal scrape, 6 Woodcocks around the area and a Short-eared Owl along the peninsula.

Long sunny spells along with a F3 north westerly.  A HUMES WARBLER trapped in churchfield was our second in a few weeks and remained elusive afterwards around churchfield but showed well in the afternoon in the churchyard.. The 3 Shore Larks were still present but had moved onto beacon ponds and 5 Snow Buntings were mobile along the canal. The day saw little evidence of other migrants bar a Woodcock and small numbers of Thrushes. 

Over the sea a Velvet Scoter was the most noteable sighting.

At last another extended period of sunshine along with a coll F4 north westerly.  The day saw little change overall with the Yellow-browed Warbler still present at Kew, now 3 Shore Larks at Easington lagoons and a Great White Egret on canal scrape. The Black Brant was still present with 2 Pale-bellied Brents and 800 Brent Geese.

The sea saw only a trickle again the best being 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 122 Common Gulls, 2 Great Northern Divers and 112 Gannets while 4 Woodcocks arrived in/off.

Cloudy yet again but with light rain throughout and a F4 north westerly.  The ringed Yellow-browed Warbler remained at Kew, the 2 Shore Larks at Easington lagoons, 7 Snow Buntings (5 narrows, 2 lagoons), a Great White Egret flew south and a Twite at the warren. The Black Brant was still on Easington straight with 3 Pale-bellied Brents and 5 Goldeneye on beacon ponds. 

Bits on the move included 6 Whooper Swans, 4 Eiders, 19 Little Gulls, 41 Kittiwakes, a Yellow-legged Gull, 4 Great Northern Divers, 12 Chaffinches, a Brambling, 26 Siskins and 4 Reed Buntings.

The continuing trend for overcast cloudy weather continued with a F4 south westerly.  Maybe the biggest suprise of the day was a late Garden Warbler at greenfield bungalows in Easington while lingerers included the 2 Shore Larks at Easington lagoon and the Yellow-browed Warbler at Kew. Other grounded migrnats saw a Hawfinch fly north west from Kew, 4 Woodcocks, a single Goldcrest, 18 Redwings, 105 Blackbirds, a Ring Ouzel, 40 Siskins and 3 Snow Buntings. There was also a nice total of 5 Cetti's Warblers around the triangle amd the Black Brant and 3 Pale-bellied Brents among 832 Brent Geese on Easington straight. 

A trickle of movement saw 29 Wigeon, 12 Teal, 2 Eiders, 3 Goldeneye, a Red-breasted Merganser, single Great Northen Diver and a Marsh Harrier recorded.

Another cloudy day with a F4 northerly.  The 2 Shore Larks remained at Easington lagoons as did the Yellow-browed Warbler around Kew and a Hawfinch in Easington over peter lane. Other grounded migrants saw a Woodcock, 40 Redwings, 65 Blackbirds, 5 Mistle Thrushes, 5 Stonechats, a Brambling and 4 Snow Buntings

The Black Brant was again on Easington straight with a Pale-bellied Brent and 400 Brent Geese with the ponds area having 3 Pintails, a Tufted Duck, 5 Goldeneyes ans 3 Red-breasted Mergansers while over the sea 2 Whooper Swans, 24 Eider, 128 Common Scoters, 2 Goldeneyes, a Great Northern Diver, 63 Gannets and a Shag the most noteable.

Ringing: Fieldfare 1, Redwing 8, Blackbird 8, Wren 1, Robin 1, Chaffinch 2, Goldfinch 1. 22/7 Watch times: 07:00-11:00.

A bright and sunny day along with a F2 north westerly.  In complete contrast to the previous day the sea was much becalmed today but a huge suprise came in the form of a Cory's Shearwater lingering offshore for around an hour. The day also saw a new Yellow-browed Warbler trapped in churchfield, 9 Snow Buntings at the breach and a Great White Egret blogging while a Black Brant at long bank is maybe a returning bird. 

There was also another small arrival with 240 Blackbirds many arriving in/off and north west plus a Woodcock, a Blackcap, 25 Robins, 10 Chaffinches, 2 Bramblings and 7 Siskins.

 Back to more cloudy weather but with a cooler F5 northeasterly and with thechange in the wind direction to a more northerly aspect the sea saw a flurry of activity with 2 Eider, a Velvet Scoter, 174 Kittiwakes, a Pomarine Skua, 10 Razorbills, 65 Red-throated Divers, 3 Storm Petrels, 3 Sooty Shearwaters, a Manx Shearwater, 75 Gannets and a Shag.

There was still a nice scatter of grounded migrants around the sarea with 2 Woodcocks, a Yellow-browed Warbler at Kew, single Chiffchaff, 50 Redwings, a Black Redstart at the warren, 30 Chaffinches and a Brambling, while the 2 Shore Larks were still at Easington lagoons, a Hen Harrier blogged around the area and a Short-eared Owl came in/off the sea.

Ringing: Starling 11, Goldcrest 1, Blackbird 29, Redwing 9, Robin 2, House Sparrow 3, Chaffinch 1, Lesser Redpoll 1. 57/8 Watch times: 06:45-10:30, 13:30-14:30

The sea was where the action was today with 4 Whooper Swans, 7 Eiders, 35 Common Scoters, 6 Little Gulls, 173 Kittiwakes, 2 Arctic Skuas, a Pomarine Skua, single Great Skua, 17 Razorbills, 123 Large Auk sp, 30 Red-throated Divers, 4 Great Northern Divers and 65 Gannets. The best of the overland movement saw some slim pickings with just 18 Redpolls, 22 Goldfinches and 20 Siskins. 

Migrant numbers were somewhat reduced with 5 Woodcocks, 5 Chiffchaffs, 60 Redwings, 70 Blackbirds and 5 Snow Buntings but with observers about looking.

Generally cloudy with occasional drizzle the sun making an appearance for the first time in a while with light winds.  The late autumn daily arrivals continues today seeing a Jack Snipe, 25 Woodcocks, 6 Chiffchaffs, 5 Blackcaps, a Msitle Thrush, 470 Redwings, 540 Blackbirds, 35 Fieldfares, 2 Ring Ouzels, 11 Stonechats, 30 Chaffinches, 7 Bramblings and a Bullfinch. The 2 Shore Larks were still present around Easington lagoons. 

There was some mixed vismig which included 4 Russian White-fronted Geese which landed on the Humber, 2 Ruddy Shelducks, 4 Shovelers, 3 Pintails, 76 Teals, a Pochard, single Velvet Scoter, 36 Common Scoter, 140 Wood Pigeons, a Common Tern, 215 Little Gulls, an Arctic Skua, 2 Marsh Harriers, a House Martin, 4 Swallows, 30 Chaffinches and another 116 Siskins with 2 ringtail Hen Harriers blogging.

Ringing: Woodcock 4, Snipe 1, Blackbird 52, Song Thrush 2, Redwing 29, Siskin 8, Lesser Redpoll 1, Tree sparrow 1. 98/8 Watch times: 07:00-10:00

The continued overcast murky weather continues along with a F3 south easterly.  A Red-necked Grebe south over the sea was the days highlight which also offered up 18 Eiders, 7 Little Gulls, 36 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver and 26 Gannets while the best of the overland movement 42 Goldfinches and 3 Snow Buntings but boosted by another 263 Siskins in this late autumn push. The 2 Shore Larks were still showing reasonably well at Easington lagoons while another small arrival of migrants mainly Thrushes produced a Jack Snipe in/off, 6 Woodcocks, the Jay still in Easington, a Yellow-browed Warbler in church field, 4 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, a Mistle Thrush, 520 Redwings, 300 Blackbirds, 16 Fieldfares and a Hawfinch

Ringing: Woodcock 2, Yellow-browed Warbler 1, Blackbird 38, Redwing 29, Brambling 1, Goldfinch 1, Lesser Redpoll 3. 75/7

Another cloudy overcast day with a F3 southerly.  The day saw little change the 2 Shore Larks at Easington lagoon with 10 Snow Buntings (3 flew south), a Yellow-browed Warbler and Hawfinch on green lane and a Black Redstart in Easington. There were less grounded migrants about 230 Blackbirds the peak count plus a Jack Snipe, 5 Woodcocks, 6 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 90 Redwings, 2 Ring Ouzels, 41 Robins and a Brambling while another 142 Siskins flew south. 

The vismiggers had a quiet day highlights of 2 Little Auks on the sea, a Ruff, 4 Mediterranean Gulls, 3 Swallows and a House Martin. Full counts on Trektellen.

Acloudy day with a light south westerly.  The Humes Warbler was still present on Humberside lane, 2 Yellow-browed Warblers nearby in Easington (vicars lane, hillrise), a Siberian Chiffchaff at Kew plus 3 Jack Snipes, 5 Woodcocks, the 2 Shore Larks at Easington lagoons, 6 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 11 Goldcrests, 210 Redwings, 100 Fileldfares, a Ring Ouzel, 33 Robins, 8 Stonechats, 2 Bramblings, 23 Twites and 7 Snow Buntings with 172 Siskins flying south. 

Other sightings saw an adult White-fronted Goose head west over Easington, 8 Whooper Swans and a House Martin flew south, 22 Black-tailed Godwits on Kilnsea wetlands, a Great White Egret blogging and a Kingfisher in Easington.

Another cloudy overcastday with a light south easterly.  There was a small arrival during the day which brought a HUMES WARBLER to Easington cemetery showing welll and calling regularly with a Yellow-browed Warbler nearby on vicars lane (with calls of these birds below for comparison). The day also saw a Jack Snipe, 3 Woodcocks, 7 Chiffchaffs, 6 Blackcaps, 12 Goldcrests, 620 Starlings, 363 Redwings, 163 Fieldfares, a Ring Ouzel, 22 Bramblings, 3 Hawfinches (2 south), 6 Twites, 368 Siskins flew south and 8 Snow Buntings with the 2 Shore Larks still at Easington lagoons and a ringtail Hen Harrier blogging around the area. 

Other sightings saw 5 Ruddy Shelducks visit Kilnsea wetlands then flew south as did 2 Great White Egrets the sea chipping in with 108 Eiders, 2 Velvet Scoters, 32 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver and 20 Gannets.

A cool cloudy overcast day with a light south easterly bringing small numbers of new migrants to the area.  The 2 Shore Larks remained often elusive at Easington lagoons where a Siberian Chiffchaff was also present. Nearby 7 Snow Buntings were at beacon ponds and another bird by cliff farm. There were still 2 Yellow-browed Warblers on vicars lane, a Firecrest in Kilnsea at pancho pond and a mobile Hawfinch around Kilnsea. Other migrants included 3 Woodcocks, 340 Starlings, 350 Redwings, 80 Blackbirds, 144 Fieldfares, 12 Stonechats, 11 Bramblings, 11 Twite and 527 Siskins (492 flew south). 

There was again some movement over the sea but in lesser numbers with 48 Eiders, a Red-breasted Merganser, 30 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Northern Divers and a Fulmar. Full counts on Trektellen.

A cloudy but bright day with a moderate south easterly.  The day saw yet more arrivals of migrants and while species diversity was low there were some healthy numbers. The bird of the day was another Pallas's Warbler this one at the point showing well while totals from the day included an impressive 19262 Starlings (11262 in off the sea and north west), 3 Shore Larks, 18 Woodcocks, a Black Redstart, 17 Stonechats, 43 Fieldfares, 642 Blackbirds, 430 Redwings, 4 Chiffchaffs, 2 Yellow-browed Warblers. 2 Blackcaps, 22 Goldcrests and 10 Bramblings while 114 Siskins flew south. 

The sea continued where it left off from the previous day with plenty of interest with a Pochard, 17 Scaup, 125 Eiders, 2 Velvet Scoters, 2 Goldeneyes, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers, a Little Auk, 3 Great Northern Divers, a Leach's Petrel and a single Manx Shearwater. A Sunfish not too far out was a suprise.

A cloudy grey day with generally light easterly winds. The day saw some good passage over the sea along with new arrivals with a showy Pallas's Warbler in terminal copse the highlight plus a Jack Snipe, 15 Woodcocks, a Jay, 7 Short-eared Owls, a Long-eared Owl, single Shore Lark at beacon ponds, 40 Long-tailed Tits, 3 Chiffchaffs, a Firecrest in the churchyard, 22 Goldcrests, 1010 Redwings, 1204 Blackbirds, 137 Fieldfares, 2 Ring Ouzels, 14 Stonechats, 14 Bramblings, 83 Siskins and 2 Snow Buntings. 

The sea was maybe suprisngly busy with 2 Pintails, 61 Teal, 4 Tufted Ducks, a Scaup, 8 Eiders, 2 Velvet Scoter, 175 Common Scoters, 2 Goosanders, 5 Little Gulls, 5 Arctic Skuas, a Pomarine Skua, a Long-tailed Skua lingering offshore, 5 Great Northern Divers, 38 Red-throated Divers and a Leach's Petrel. 

Ringing: Sparrowhawk 1, Redwing 24, Fieldfare 2, Ring Ouzel 1, Blackbird 67, Goldcrest 5, Robin 2, Brambling 4, Wren 1, Goldfinch 2. 109/10. Watch times: 06:45-10:15, 10:45-12:00, 13:15-15:15, 15:30-16:40.

A generally cloudy overcast day with a brisk F5 westerly.  The most noteable sighting on the day saw a Bittern arrive in/off the sea landing at beacon ponds only leaving at dusk when it flew off south calling. The 2 Shore Larks were still on Easington lagoons but around the area grounded migrant numbers were low with just 3 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, a Mistle Thrush, 150 Redwings, 150 Blackbirds, 60 Fieldfares, 2 Ring Ouzels, 9 Bramblings and a Hawfinch

The vismiggers had some decent southbound movement the best being 57 Whooper Swans, 3 Velvet Scoters, 2 Goldeneyes, 63 Golden Plovers, 13 Lapwings, 4 Snipes, 35 Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver, 2 Marsh Harriers, a Common Buzzard, singles of Swallow and House Martin, 3 Grey Wagtails, 50 Redpolls, 32 Goldfinches and 31 Siskins.
