Dull again with a F1 SW wind. Watches 0745-1000. There were some extra bits on offer today with a Waxwing in Easington. Great Northern Diver south over the sea, a Pochard on Kilnsea wetlands and a Pale-bellied Brent at Sammys plus the 3 Shore Larks still at beacon ponds and 10 Whooper Swans again on Easington straight.

There was at least 1 Snow Bunting still mobile around the area, 3 Water Rails on the canal, 5 Chiffchaff in Easington along with good numbers of Thrushes still present.

Dull cloudy day with a F1 SW wind. Watches 0740-1030. It was much the same in dull conditions with the good birds still about including the 3 Shore Larks at beacon ponds, 13 Whooper Swans and a Barnacle Goose nearby on Easington straight along with 364 Pink-footed Geese, a Snow Bunting still wandering the area and 2 Cetti's Warbler in the triangle.

Elsewhere 100 Common Scoter were on the Humber and a Barn Owl in the triangle while small numbers of migrants continued to arrive with 4 Blackcaps, 224 Blackbird, 190 Fieldfare, 23 Chaffinch, 8 Lesser Redpoll and 9 Siskins with another 50 Siskins heading south.

Foggy with a light F1 SW wind.  The 3 Shore Larks were stil at beacon ponds depsite the best efforts of some off road bikers trespassing and the 4 White-fronted Geese on Easington straight with 10 Whooper Swans nearby. 

Other sightings saw 600 Pink-footed Geese out of roost from Kilnsea wetlands with 236 Blackbirds and 120 Fieldfare the best of the grounded migrants.

It was a nice mild day in the field no doubt giving the 3 Swallows a good day to feed around the blue bell while there are now 3 Shore Larks at the north end of beacon ponds. A Waxwing was in the hedge outside the Obs with a Bearded Tit along the canal and the 4 White-fronted Geese and Barnacle Goose along Easington straight.

Sunny spells with a F5 SW wind. Watches 0715-1000.  The 2 Shore Larks remained at beacon ponds along with a Snow Bunting in the same area and 4 White-fronted Geese and a Barnacle Goose in fields off Easington straight. The ringtail Hen Harrier continued to hunt the area and 11 Whooper Swans were on KIlnsea wetlands. The best of the other sightings included 118 Black-tailed Godwits on Kilnsea wetlands, 6 Chiffchaffs at Easington sewage works and 71 Siskin heading south.

Sunny spells with a F5 SW wind. Watches: 0745-1000.  The best sightings from the day included 2 Shore Larks at beacon ponds, a White-fronted Goose and 12 Whooper Swans on Easington straight, the ringtail Hen Harrier wandering the area and a Great Northern Diver south over the sea.

A trickle of movement saw 45 Lapwings, 15 Skylark, 6 Meadow Pipit, 33 Chaffinch, 25 Linnet, 31 Goldfinch, 91 Siskin and 2 Snow Buntings head south.

Sunny spells with a F5 southerly. Wacthes: 0745-0930, 1430-1600.  Another quieter day was slightly livened up with 4 White-fronted Geese on Easington straight but otherwsie there was a few bits moving south with a Great Crested Grebe, Marsh Harrier, 22 Chaffinch, 14 Goldfinch and 10 Siskin the best of those.

Elsewherea Snow Bunting was at beacon ponds and a Kingfisher around canal scrape.

A rainy day with a F4 SW wind. Watches: 1115-1245.  A quiet day the best of which saw a Great Northern Diver head south over the sea and 13 Whooper Swans on Easington straight. THe best of the other sightings saw 114 Black-tailed Godwit, a Mediterranean Gull and a Short-eared Owl around Kilnsea wetlands.

Cloudy with a F3 NE wind. Watches: 0815-1130.  Highlights for the day included a Firecrest around Kilnsea, the ringatail Hen Harrier still wandering the triangle to Beacon ponda area, 2 Snow Buntings at beacon ponds and 2 Little Auks south over the sea. 

There were still a few migrants clinging on with a Woodcock, 6 Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 170 Blackbird, 154 Fieldfare, 23 Redwing, 10 Meadow Pipit, 28 Chaffinch and a Twite.

A bright start clouded over with rain and a F3 SE wind. Watches 0730-1035. The Shore Lark was still present at beacon ponds with 4 Snow Buntings, a Great White Egret nearby, 2 Wawings flew south while over the sea 2 Little Auk headed the same way. Also moving were 2 Grey Wagtail, 43 Chaffinch, 10 Greenfinch, 10 Lesser Redpoll, 26 Goldfinch and 125 Siskins. 

The White-fronted Goose and Barnacle Goose were still in the long bank area along with 670 Brent Geese.

Early morning rain then blue skies and sunshine with a F5 westerly.  Watches:  07:30-14:30. It was another great day so late in the autumn around the area with a small arrival fo migrants, some movement over the sea and some decent birds including 2 Hen Harriers (adult male which flew south and a ringtail), the Shore Lark still at beacon ponds with 4 Snow Buntings, a Great White Egret which landed by the tank blocks, 3 White-fronted Geese (1 juvenile), a Barancle Goose and 21 Whooper Swans at long bank, a 1cy Caspian Gull SE out to sea plus 2 Woodcocks, a Jack Snipe, 4 Waxwings, 8 Chiffchaffs, 16 Blackcaps, 13 Goldcrest, a Ring Ouzel, 320 Blackbirds, 38 Chaffinch and 3 Bramblings.

The best of the sea saw just 5 Little Auks fly south plus 11 Eider, 3 Goosander, and 2 Red-breasted Merganser while overland a Marsh Harrier, 18 Snipe in/off, 40 Skylark (22 in/off), 19 Meadow Pipits, 10 Rock Pipits, 35 Chaffinch, a Brambling, 17 Greenfinch, a Twite, 43 Linnets, 192 Siskins, a Snow Bunting and 2 Yellowhammers.

Cloudy with the odd spot of rain brightening up with a F5 SE wind. Watches: 07:15-15:30. It was another good day over the sea and while Duck numbers were down there was still a good selection. The best were 94 Little Auks (91 south) one of which came close to being a Peregrines lunch, a Slavonian Grebe on the sea which eventually went south, 2 Great Northern Divers and a Sooty Shearwater north and a Caspian Gull and female Long-tailed Duck south. Aslo moving were 11 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 11 Mallard, 6 Pintail, 52 Teal, 8 Tufted Duck, 17 Eider, 156 Common Scoter, a Velvet Scoter, 4 Goldeneye, a Goosander, 8 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Fulmar, a Great Crested Grebe, 31 Gannet, 128 Kittiwake, 26 Little Gulls, 522 Herring Gulls, a Commic Tern and 2 Puffin. Overland 4 Twite, 5 Redpoll, 5 Siskin and 17 Chaffinch were the best.

The day also saw 2 Waxwings arrive with a single over Kew to Easington and another lingering on beacon lane, a Ring Ouzel at the Warren, the Shorelark still at beacon ponds with 5 Snow Buntings, a White-fronted Goose and Barnacle Goose along with 12 Whooper Swans in the long bank area, where the ringtail Hen Harrier continued to linger. There were still good numbers of migrants with a late Willow Warbler, a Jack Snipe, 5 Woodcocks, a Long-eared Owl, 12 Chiffchaff, 11 Blackcaps, 17 Goldcrest, 837 Blackbirds, a Black Redstart, 45 Chaffinch and 3 Bramblings.

Overcast with a few spots of rain and a F5 south easterly. Watches: 07:00-16:30  It was an other good day around the area with plenty of Thrushes around, mainly Blackbirds with several bits of interest too, the Shore Lark reappeared again at beacon ponds, a Yellow-browed Warbler trapped in church field, along with 29 Woodcocks, a Snipe, Long-eared Owl, 2 Short-eared Owls, 2 Swallows, 5 Black Redstarts, 2 Ring Ouzels, 4 Chiffchaffs, 11 Blackcaps, 3 Goldcrest, 1500 Blackbirds, 130 Redwing, 2 Mistle Thrushes, 35 Chaffinch, 3 Bramblings and 12 Snow Buntings

Quiet for birds on the move with just 18 Pintail, a Velvet Scoter, 120 Lapwing, 5 Lesser Redpoll, 30 Goldfinch and 35 Siskins.

A day of strong F5 SE winds and rain throughout. Watches 0730-1545.  It was a good day on all fronts with the sea recieving plenty of attention with totals of a Sabines Gull, 424 Little Gulls, 2322 Kittiwakes, 15 Arctic Skuas, 12 Pomarine Skuas, 3 Great Skuas, a Sooty Shearwater, 1 Manx Shearwater, 120 Gannet, 104 Wigeon, 268 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 8 Eider, 10 Goldeneye, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Velvet Scoter and 5+ Little Auks with the greater bulk of birds all heading south.

There was a good arrival of 25 Woodcocks (16 canal/warren area), a Ring Ouzel and Mealy Redpoll along the canal and good numbers of Thrushes including 481 Blackbirds, 535 Fieldfare, 170 Redwing, 51 Song Thrush and 4 Mistle Thrush around the area plus a Short-eared Owl, 2 Chiffchaff, 10 Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 5 Stonechat, 2 Black Redstarts (Sandy beaches and Obs), 2 Brambling and a Snow Bunting while the ringtail Hen Harrier at Sammys and 6 Tundra Bean Geese came in from the east over Easington.

Sunny spells and showers with a F4 SE wind. Watches 0900-1000, 1315-1545.  The best sightings of the day were 5 Snow Buntings around the area, 17 Whooper Swans on Easington straight, a good total of 261 Little Gulls south over the sea plus a Little Auk. The sea also had the best of the other sightings with 3 Gadwall, 55 Wigeon, 10 Mallard, 470 Teal, 8 Pintail, 12 Edier, 69 Common Scoter, a Goldeneye and 80 Lapwings with 22 Siskin overland.

Rain all day with a F6 SE wind. Watches 0800-1230, 1320-1615. It was a fantastic day of Wildfowl movement over the sea with some good totals including 15 Brent Geese, 32 Shoveler, 17 Gadwall, 519 Wigeon, 7 Mallard, 32 Pintail, 1172 Teal, 2 Pochard, a Scaup, 21 Eider, a Velvet Scoter, 266 Common Scoter, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 87 Gannet, 32 Lapwing, 12 Knot, 335 Dunlin, a Grey Phalarope, 8 Little Gull, 3 Arctic Skua, a Little Auk and 21 Large Auk sp.

The ringtail Hen Harrier was still in the area and some of the previous days migrants also with 6 Woodcock, a Chiffchaff, 4 Blackcap, 130 Blackbird, 40 Redwing, a Black Redstart, 4 Stonechat, a Brambling, 24 Chaffinch and 6 Siskin.

A foggy day with a F4 south easterly. Watches: 0700-1700. There was some decent movement over the sea and a nice arrival of mainly Thrushes during the day with plenty of grounded migrants in the area. The highlights of the day included a Shore Lark and 4 Black Redstart at sandy beaches, a Water Pipit at Sammys, a ringtail Hen Harrier blogging the area, while a Cattle Egret on vicars lane may have been the bird from 5 days previously? There were some good migrant totals for the time of year with 5 Woodcock, a Short-eared Owl, 11 Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, 5 Goldcrests, 30 Wren, 4500 Starling, 410 Blackbirds, 1630 Redwings, 16 Song Thrush, 11 Stonechat, 41 Chaffinch, 5 Brambling and 50 Siskins with a late Swallow heading south. 

The sea was busy with Wildfowl in particular which saw 50 Shelduck, 306 Wigeon, 11 Mallard, 270 Teal, 4 Pochard, a Tufted Duck, 135 Eider, 170 Common Scoter, a Goosander, 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 20 Gannets, 150 Black-headed Gulls, 12 Little Gulls, a Sandwich Tern, 1 Great Skua and an Arctic Skua.

KIlnsea wetlands area held a good array of species with 234 Brent Geese, a Pale-bellied Brent, 17 Whooper Swans, 20 Shoveler, 2 Pintail, 179 Teal, a Pochard, 1 Goldeneye, 110 Black-tailed Godwit and 70 Lapwing.

A foggy day on and off with a F4 south easterly.  It was difficult out and about with poor visbilty with noteable species being a Black Brant or hybrid in Kilnsea along with a Pale-bellied Brent, 32 Whooper Swans, a Green Sandpiper heading south, a Kingfisher along the canal, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 2 Black Redstarts and a Snow Bunting. 

There were even some migrants located being a Jack Snipe, 3 Woodcocks, 4 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, 6 Goldcrests, 270 Blackbird, 150 Redwing, 13 Song Thrush, 2 Black Redstarts, 68 Chaffinch, 4 Bramblings, 2 Lesser Redpoll and 5 Siskins.

Sunny spells and a F5 SE wind, Watches: 0700-1200, 1430-1530 .It was a great day of movement over land and sea with highlights of 2 Tundra Bean Goose, 7 Whooper Swans, a Black-throated Diver, 1 Great Northern Diver and a Purple Sandpiper plus 100 Teal, 56 Red-throated Diver, a Great Skua, 140 Stock Doves, 1253 Wood Pigeons, 46 Jackdaw, 8 Rook, 72 Skylarks, 2 Swallow, 78 Meadow Pipits, 86 Chaffinches, 5 Brambling, 98 Greenfinch, a Twite, 47 Lesser Redpolls, 181 Goldfinch, 599 Siskins, 2 Snow Bunting, 2 Yellowhammers and 67 Reed Bunting.

The White-fronted Goose was on Kilnsea wetlands along with a Pale-bellied Brent, 24 Whooper Swans and a Short-eared Owl. Other bits were a Kingfisher in Sykes field 3 Cetti's Warbler (2 triangle, 1 Point) and 2 Bullfinch in church field.

The autumn is dragging out for Hirundines with apparently lots still present in the country as the relative mild conditions persist. Today saw another Red-rumped Swalllow head south over Easington eventually u-turning just south of the Warren plus another 3 Swallows.

The White-fronted Goose was still on Easington striaght and a Great Northern Diver went south at the seawaych hide.

A mild day with sunny spells and a breezy F8 SW wind. Watches: 0730-1115, 1315-1620.

The White-fronted Goose remained on Kilnsea wetlands with Greylags with the Black Brant in the area with 135 Dark-bellied Brents, while the area also held 22 Whooper Swans, 10 Mute Swans, 250 Pinl-footed Geese, 38 Shoveler, 6 Pintail, 16 Lapwing, 50 Black-tailed Godwits amd 4 Mediterranean Gulls.

The vismiggers had 19 Stock Dove, 5 Skylarks, 6 Swallows, a Lesser Redpoll, 20 Goldfinch, 21 Siskins, a Snow Bunting and 9 Reed Bunting with the seawtchers chipping in with a Great Northern Diver, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Little Gulls and an Arctic Tern.

Sunny spells with aF5 south westerly. Watches 0710-1000, 1100-1615

Cattle Egret around Kilnsea wetlands and then in the triangle with highland cattle was the highlight of the day while a Woodlark went south spending time on Clubleys before continuing on its way. A Spoonbill and the White-fronted Goose were again on Kilnsea wetlands with this area slso holding 17 Whooper Swans, 300 Wigeon, 27 Shoveler, 181 Teal, 150 Bar-tailed Godwits and 280 Black-tailed Godwits.

There was some good movement overland with 5 Swallows, 52 Skylarks, a Mistle Thrush, 4 Alba Wagtail, 35 Chaffinch, 14 Greenfinch, 70 Linnet, 120 Redpolls, 367 Goldfinch, 495 Siskins, 4 Snow Bunting and 9 Red Bunting. Over the sea wee 550 Pink-footed Geese, 2 Tufted Ducks, 3 Goosander, a Great Northern Diver and 5 Little Gulls.

Sunny spells and a breezy F7 south westerly. Watches 0650 -1600.

The White-fronted Goose was still around Kilnsea wetlands along with 12 Whooper Swans, 24 Shoveler and 20 Black-tailed Godwit. There were still small numbers of migrants arriving with 167 Fieldfare in the area, a Jack Snipe, 8 Twite and a Snow Bunting.

Over the sea were 2 Velvet Scoter, a Goosander, 1 Red-breasted Merganser,  40 Gannet, 14 Little Gull and a Puffin while overland 6 Swallow, 17 Redpoll, 4 Twite, 187 Siskin and 4 Snow Bunting.

Sunny spells and showers with a F6 SW wind.  Watches 0645-1200, 1430-1550.

A White-fronted Goose was a suprise late in the day on KIlnsea wetlands where there were also 450 Pink-footed Geese, 12 Whooper Swans, 163 Black-tailed Godwit, a Greenshank and 3 Mediterranean Gulls. Nearby 20 Twite were around beacon ponds and further down the peninsula 10 Snow Bunting at chalk bank.

The sea had a Great Northen Diver presumably some are resident offshore at the moment plus 29 Teal, 2 Eider, 20 Red-throated Diver, a Great Crested Grebe, 24 Gannet and a Little Gull while the best overland was another Swallow, 3 Twite, 5 Lesser Redpoll, 19 Goldfinch and 44 Siskin.

Mainly cloudy with the odd glimpse of the sun and a light F3 SW wind.  Watches: 0715-1000, 1350-1540.

A Shore Lark at the breach was maybe the bird which came in/off on Friday while 48 Twite were still in the area along with 14 Snow Bunting and 2 Bearded Tit were along the canal.

There was some slim pickings over the sea 19 Whooper Swans and a Great Northern Diver the best of the sightings along with 4 Eider, 3 Goosander, 2 Avocet and 2 Puffin and overland 35 Siskin was the best. Full counts on Trektellen.

Atleast 700 Pink-footed Geese were still roosting at Kilnsea wetlands along with Spoonbill, 240 Black-tailed Godwit, 200 Redshank and a Greenshank;

Despite the stromg south westerly it was the sea which had the best bird when late afternoon a close in Cory's Shearwater flew north along with a Sooty Shearwater and a Black-throated Diver. Several flocks of Thrushes were seen arriving low over the waves along with a Woodcock.

A Caspian Gull was on Kilnsea wetlands, a flock of around 20 Twite at beacon ponds, 25 Snow Bunting south at the Warren, 20 Whooper Swans on Easington straight, a Jack Snipe on canal scrape and a Swallow.

A bright and sunny day with a F5 south westerly.  Watches 0700-1000, 1515-1615.

It was another decent day around the area a Red-rumped Swallow heading south was without photos probably the bird from the previous day while a Swallow and House Martin were also seen along with 17 Stock Dove, 47 Jackdaw, 21 Rook, 84 Skylark, 20 Tree Sparrow, 11 Lesser Redpoll, 18 Siskin and 2 Yellowhammer. THe best over the sea were a Great Northern Diver, 6 Whooper Swans, 2 Shag and an Arctic Skua.

Other sightings during the day were a Spponbill on Kilnsea wetlands, 4 Woodcock, 2 Jack Snipe, a Water Pipit at Sammys, 4 Bearded Tit along the canal, 2 Cetti's Warbler in the triangle and 19 Snow Bunting.

A cludy day with sunny spells and a F2 south westerly. Watches 0700-1000, 1300-1500.

There was again some small numbers of birds arriving in the morning alogn with another trickle of overland movement, the highlight of the day being a Red-rumped Swallow which seemed to go south over the visitor centre (which from photos is differnt to the bird a few days ago). Other birds on the move were a Black-throated Diver, 31 Red-throated Diver, a Goosander and 1 Eider over the sea with a Great White Egret, 4 Jackdaw, 620 Starling, 29 Chaffinch, 36 Lesser Redpoll, 265 Siskin, 11 Yellowhammer and 32 Reed Bunting.

A Green Woodpecker at the Warren flew off north, 2 Yellow-browed Warbler were found during the day, 2 Wheatear but no rare ones, a Lapland Bunting at the breach, 4 Snow Buntings, 2 Hooded Crows again, 2 Woodcock, 17 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 22 Goldcrest, 121 Blackbird, 71 Robin, a Black Redstart, 20 Stonechat, 6 Brambling, 50 Twite and 56 Lesser Redpoll.

There was agood flcok of 49 Whooper Swans at Sammys while a returning Black Brant was on Kilnsea wetlands along with a Spoonbill, 1 Avocet, 194 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Greenshank and 5 Mediterranean Gull with 2 Goldneye and 2 Goosander on beacon ponds.

A cloudy day with an increasing F5-8 south westerly.  Watches 0645-1200, 1250-1610. 

Most of todays action was again for the migration watchers at the Warren with a nice selection, but no big numbers. The best were 39 Whoopers Swans (17 beacon ponds), 2 Goosander, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 13 Little Gull, 11 Mediterranean Gull, 3 Common Tern, an Arctic Tern, a Pomarine Skua, 1 Arctic Skua, 92 Stock Dove, 3000 Wood Pigeon, a Swallow, 53 Chaffinch, a Brambling, 4 Twite, 21 Lesser Redpoll, 270 Goldfinch, 261 Siskin and 9 Reed Bunting.

The migrants continued to hang on in the area with a Woodcock, 9 Chiffchaff, 15 Goldcrest, 80 Blackbird, 25 Robin, a male Black Redstart at the point, 3 Stonechat, 10 Lesser Redpoll, 24 Siskin and 3 Snow Bunting.

Sunny spells and a breezy F7 south westerly. Watches 0645-1600.

The highlight of the day saw a Red-rumped Swallow initially head south then lingering in the triangle, with a Tundra Bean Goose heading north over beacon ponds. Also on the move were a Great White Egret in/off the sea, 16 Whoopers Swans, 31 Shoveler, 758 Wigeon, 14 Pintail, 406 Teal, 11 Tufted Ducks, 3 Velvet Scoter, a Long-tailed Duck, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 3 Great Northern Divers, 2 Common Terns, 18 Little Gull, a Caspian Gull, a Puffin and 26 Razorbills. Overland were 4 Swallow, 4 House Martins, 683 Starlings, 8 Twite, 18 Lesser Redpoll, 151 Goldfinch, 310 Siskin and 11 Reed Buntings. Full counts on Trektellen.

Other sightings included 2 Hooded Crows, a Ring Ouzel, 1 Black Redstart and a great count of 72 Twite were wandering the area.

The Heligoland trap is now up and running at the Warren with the first bird to be ringed from it a Redwing.
