Bright and sunny with a stiff swinging wind.  Watches 0630-1030

The Hawfinch was still present around the area but there were fewer grounded migrants among the breeders including a Mistle Thrush, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Ring Ouzels, a Stonechat and 11 Wheatears while a Hobby hunted the area..

Some small movement occured including a Goosander, 6 Swifts, 78 Swallows, 2 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, 10 Goldfinches, 4 Siskins and a Yellowhammer. Heading out east were 4 Curlews, 8 Bar-tailed Godwits, 2 Dunlins and a single Arctic tern.

Bright and sunny with a cold stiff F6 north east wind. Watches 0630-1000

Migrant numbers were similar to the previous day but a change in species involved included a Wood Sandpiper in well field, 5 Cetti's Warblers, 7 Willow Warblers, 23 Chiffchaffs, 22 Sedge Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers, 2 Goldcrests, a Redwing, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Black Redstarts, a Stonechat, 9 Wheatears, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a Brambling, single Hawfinch on the feeders at Kew and a male Crossbill at Sammys. There were fewer birds heading east out the Humber with just 8 Arctic Terns, 2 Little Gulls and an Arctic Skua where a lone Whooper Swan sat on the mud in the morning,. 

The wetlands area held much the same again the Black Brant and Pale-belleid Brent, 150 Brent Geese, 5 Wigeons, 12 Teal, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank.

A cloudy start slowly brightened up with a cold stiff wind.  Watches 0650-1030

The morning saw some decent east bound traffic including 108 Arctic Terns and an Arctic Skua but the same winds good for them were poor for any southbound movements with just 25 Swallows and a Brambling of note. There was a scatter of grounded migrants around the area with 11 Willow Warblers, 25 Chiffchaffs, 5 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, 2 Goldcrests, a Mistle Thrush, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Whinchats, 14 Wheatears and Yellow Wagtails.

The Black Brant and single Pale-bellied Brent remained in the wetlands area plus 5 Avocets, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank.

A cloudy start cleared quickly leaving clear skies until the afternoon when it clouded over again and the wind picked up. Watches 0630-1030, 1330-1430

A nice mixed day with an increase in grounded migrants and some southbound movement. A Red-rumped Swallow topped the billing as it headed south ligering along the peninsula while the years 1st Wood Warbler entertained at Sammys. Other counts included 12 Willow Warblers, 17 Chiffchaffs, a whopping 46 Sedge Warblers, 6 Reed Warblers, single Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Blackcaps, 2 Garden Warbler, 10 Lesser Whitethroats, 42 Whitethroats, a Redwing, single Redstart, 2 Whinchats, 15 Wheatears, 4 Yellow Wagtails, a Water Pipit on Kilnsea wetlands and 2 Redpolls. 

There was some decent movement but again not in any big numbers with 11 Arctic Terns out east, 2 Great White Egrets, a Red Kite, 15 Rooks, 10 Carrion Crows, 39 Sand Martins, 263 Swallows, 5 House Martins, 9 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, single Corn Bunting and aYellowhammer. 

The wetlands again had the Black Brant, 3 Little-ringed Plovers, 3 Common Sandpipers and 2 Greenshanks.

Ringing 1 Great Tit, 4 Willow Warbler, 6 Chiffchaff, 1 Reed Warbler, 3 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Redwing, 1 Lesser Redpoll

A cloudy start brightened up becoming a nice day albeit with a cool F2 north east wind.  Watches 0630-1000

The first Whinchat of the year was along the peninsula among a small increase in migrnats and breeders including 6 Willow Warblers, 20 Chiffchaffs, 17 Sedge Warblers, 2 Grasshopper Warblers, 10 Lesser Whitethroats, 46 Whitethroats and 6 Wheatears while a nice flock of 6 Great White Egrets flew north west up the Humber.

A nice mainly sunny day after a cold start with a light frost and light north east winds that picked up slightly in the afternoon.  Watches 0645-1000

It was almost a repeat of the previous day but a touch more varied for the vimiggers which saw 60 Arctic Terns head out east while heading south 2 Marsh Harriers, a Red Kite, 7 Jackdaws, 63 Rooks, 6 Carrion Crows, 2 Sand Martins, 226 Swallows, 5 House Martins, 17 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit and a Redpoll. 

Grounded migrants again featured albeit no big counts of any species but included 29 Sand Martins, 5 Willow Warblers, 2 Grasshopper Warblers, a Garden Warbler, single Redwing, 2 Black Redstarts, a Redstart, 5 Whaetears, 2 Yellow Wagtails and a White Wagtail. 

Thw wetlands area held a nice selection of species with the Black Brant, a Pale-bellied Brent, 11 Gadwalls, 5 Wigeon, 25 Teal, 2 Little-ringed Plovers, 2 Common Sandpipers and 2 Greenshanks.

A foggy start cleared up by mid-morning with a light north west wind and lots ofsunshine.  Watches 0630-1000, 1030-1400.

There was an increase in the vismig albeit with few species involved including 3 Little Gulls, 84 Sand Martins, 360 Swallows, 7 House Martins, a Flava Wagtail, single Tree Pipit and a Redpoll. Migrant wise the year first Garden Warbler was at Kew with 2 Grasshopper Warblers, a Black Redstart and 3 Wheatears while there are now 35 Whitethroats around the area. 

In the wetlands area a Black Brant and Pale-bellied Brent remained plus 3 Little-ringed Plovers, a Green Sandpiper, single Greenshank and 4 Ruffs were present.

Cloudy with some sunny spells in the afternoon with a cold F5 north east wind.  Watches 0630-1000

The Stone Curlew remained for its 3rd day while counts of 24 Chiffchaffs, a Ring Ouzel, 2 Black Redstarts, a Redstart, 5 Wheatears and 5 Yellow Wagtails were the standouts grounded migrants. 

A Pale-bellied Brent was with 400 Brent Geese on the wetlands where a Short-eared Owl hunted but just 14 Swallows flew south.

Nice and sunny with a cold stiff F6 north east wind. Watches 0630-1000

The Stone Curlew remained showing well while during the day another Hooded Crow flew south and a Kingfisher was in corner field. Migrant numbers were much the same including 10 Chiffchaffs, a Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Blackcaps, 2 Black Redstarts, 3 Redstarts, 4 Wheatears and a White Wagtail among a reasonable scatter of returning breeders. 

The Black Brant was present with 2 Pale-bellied Brents among 387 Brent Geese on Easington straight with the nearby wetlands having 5 Black-tailed Godwits and a Greenshank.

Bright and sunny with a cold stiff F5 north east wind blowing. Watches 0630-1000

A superb Stone Curlew graced long bank for the day but otherwise there was little change in the number of migrants present with 3 Arctic Terns, a Hobby (1st of year), 2 Willow Warblers, 17 Chiffchaffs, a Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Black Redstarts, a Redstart, 2 Wheatears, a Redwing 2 Yellow Wagtails, a White Wagtail and a Siskin.

Ringing 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Redwing, 1Tree Sparrow

Sunny spells with light mortherly winds picking up later. Watches 0600-1000

A noticeable reduction in grounded migrants throughout the area with 4 Little-ringed Plovers, 2 Willow Warblers, 15 Chiffchaffs, 12 Sedge Warblers, a Grasshopper Warbler, 9 Lesser Whitethroats, 12 Whitethroats, just 2 Wheatears and 2 Bramblings.

The Barnacle Goose which has been present on Kilnsea wetlands recently flew off south with 6 Canada Geese but it was pretty quiet again for the vismiggers with a Little-ringed Plover, 16 Swallows and 11 Siskins just about the best of what went south.

A nice bright day with plenty of sunshine and light winds.  Watches 0630-1000

A Red-rumped Swallow was the days highlight blogging around the lighthouse then heading north with other Hirumdines but it was quiet otherwise for movement with just a Great Northern Diver, 12 Jackdaws, 15 Rooks, 8 Swallows and 2 Flava Wagtails

Migrants were again well represented around the area including 7 Willow Warblers, 14 Chiffchaffs, 5 Sedge Warblers, a Reed Warbler, 5 Blackcaps, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 8 Whitethroats, the Firecrest still singing at the bluebell, 2 Fieldfares, a Ring Ouzel, single Black Redstart, 16 Wheatears, 4 Yellow Wagtails and a Brambling.

Sunny spells in light winds, starting off chilly warming up later on. Watches 0630-1000.

It was a great day for arrivals of grounded migrants the highlight our 7th GREAT REED WARBLER trapped in sykes field plus a Swift, single Jack Snipe, a Common Sandpiper, a Wood Sandpiper (1st of year), 2 Willow Warblers, 10 Chifchaffs, 8 Sedge Warblers, 5 Blackcaps, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 3 Whitethroats, a Firecrest singing at the bluebell, single Black Redstart, a Redstart, 44 Wheatears, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a Brambling and 2 Siskins. On the move were singles of Marsh Harrier and Red Kite, 41 Rooks, a Hooded Crow, 23 Sand Martins, 16 Swallows, a House Martin, 5 Flava Wagtails and a Tree Pipit.

The Black Brant was again present around the wetlands with a Pale-bellied Brent and a Barnacle Goose.

A cool overcast day with a stiff F6 south west wind. Watches 0630-1000

It was a good day for migrants and returning breeders with totals for the day being a Cuckoo, 5 Willow Warblers, 11 Chiffchaffs, 3 Sedge Wrablers, a Reed Warbler, single Grasshopper Warbler (1st of year), 4 Blackcaps, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 18 Whitethroats, 2 Redstarts, 33 Wheatears and a Yellow Wagtail.

Some light south bound movement included 2 Marsh Harriers, 8 Jackdaws, 14 Rooks, 47 Carrion Crows, a Hooded Crow, 16 Sand Martins, 25 Swallows, 3 Flava Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, 78 Chaffinches, 49 Goldfinches and 3 Siskins.

Plenty of sunshine today with a moderate F4 south west breeze.  Watches 0630-1000

It was a better day of southerly movement for the vismiggers with 35 Wood Pigeons, 35 Curlews (out east), 4 Marsh Harriers, 9 Jackdaws, 26 Rooks, 110 Carrion Crows, 4 Skylarks, 21 Sand Martins, 17 Swallows, 3 House Martins, 17 Flava Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, 3 Alba Wagtails, a Tree Pipit (1st of year), 77 Chaffinches, a Brambling, 80 Goldfinches, 3 Siskins and a Yellowhammer.

There was not much change in migrant numbers with a Cuckoo, single Common Sandpiper, a Ruff, 3 Willow Warblers, 7 Chiffchaffs, a Sedge Warbler, 2 Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroats, 23 Wheatears and 10 Yellow Wagtails.

Other bits of note saw the Black Brant lingering, 2 Tawny Owls in Easington and 130 Linnets in area.

Sunny spells with the odd shower often heavy, with a stiff wind.  Watches 0630-0915

There were still decent numbers of spring migrants around a Common Sandpiper (1st of year), 4 Willow Warblers, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 Sedge Warblers, 4 Blackcaps, a Whitethroat, single Black Redstart, 4 Stonechats, 39 Wheatears and 11 Yellow Wagtails while heading south 3 Sand Martins, 14 Swallows, 21 Chaffinches and 7 Goldfinches. 

In the wetlands area the Black Brant remained with 350 Brent Geese along with 10 Shovelers, 10 Gadwalls, 4 Pintails, 13 Avocets and a Sandwich Tern.

Another nice spring day with plenty of blue sky clouding up later on. Watches 0630-1000

A 50% clearout of migrants left 7 Willow Warblers, 20 Chiffchaffs, 2 Sedge Warblers, 11 Blackcaps, 5 Whitethroats, a Redwing, 2 Redstarts, 19 Wheatears and 3 Yellow Wagtails while yet again poor on the move with 21 Sand Martins, 18 Swallows, a House Martins, 8 Goldficnhes and 2 Siskins.

The 2 drake Garganey and Black Brant remained in the wetlands area along with 29 Gadwall, 3 Pintails, a Little-ringed Plover and 14 Whimbrels.

 A lovely sunny day albeit a bit chilly to start with and light winds. Watches 0600-1000

There was a nice arrival of spring migrants with some good totals returned including a Serin north over Kilnsea, 36 Willow Warblers, 45 Chiffchaffs, 5 Sedge Warblers, a Reed Warbler (1st of year), 22 Blackcaps, 2 Lesser Whitethroats (1st of year), 5 Whitethroats, a Cuckoo, 2 Black Redstarts, 4 Redstarts, 3 Stonechats, 39 Wheatears, 3 Yellow Wagtails and 3 Siskins. 

In the wetlands area still 2 drake Garganey remained along with a Black Brant, 350 Brent Geese, 23 Gadwalls, 2 Pintails but just 8 Avocets. Elsewhere the vismiggers were still having a quiet spring with a Little-ringed Plover, 9 Sand Martins, 12 Swallows, a House Martin, 2 Flava Wagtails and 7 Goldfinches the best!

Another windy day with strong gusts and plenty of sunny spells. Watches 0645-1000

The vismiggers had a few bits to enjoy in a quiet spring so far with 3 Egyptian Geese, 6 Sandwich Terns, an Arctic Skua, 5 Jackdaws, 9 Rooks, 7 Sand Martins, 25 Swallows, 4 House Martins, a male Blue-headed Wagtail, 51 Goldfinches and 2 Siskins. 

Migrants were still well represented including 2 Garganey, 10 Chiffchaffs, a Sedge Warbler, 5 Blackcaps, a Ring Ouzel, male Redstart, 26 Wheatears and 2 Yellow Wagtail.

A windy day with a F8 south westerly the odd light shower and sunny spells. Watches 0645-1000, 1520-1635

The day saw another nice scatter of grounded migrants which also included Little Tern and Common Swift both new for the year plus 3 Garganey, 6 Whimbrels, a Green Sandpiper, single Cuckoo, 2 Willow Warblers, 11 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 2 Redstarts, 3 Wheatears, a Blue-headed Wagtail at Kilnsea wetlands, 3 Swallows, 5 House Martins, a Brambling and 2 Siskins. 

The Black Brant and Pale-bellied Brent were still wandering the area while a Greenshank and 3 Pintails around the wetlands.

Sunny spells with a cold F5 north west wind blowing.  Watches 0640-1100, 1400-1500

Increases in grounded migrants and returning breeders saw some good totals including the first Cuckoo of the spring along with a Shore Lark on the beach at the lighthouse and a north bound Wood Lark. Other totals included 3 Garganey, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Whimbrels, single Willow Warbler, 28 Chiffchaffs, 10 Blackcaps, a Whitethroat, 3 Goldcrests, 3 Redstarts, 9 Wheatears, 5 Yellow Wagtails and 2 Siskins, while moving were 2 Red Kites, 3 Rooks, 19 Jackdaws, 3 Sand Martins, 8 Swallows and a House Martin.

Sunny spells with an increasing south westerly wind in the afternoon but a pleasant morning. Watches 0630-1100.

Another day another addition to the yearlist with another spring migrant this time 2 Whitethroats (point, Easington straight) while also 2 Garganey (pair), a Little-ringed Plover, single Green Sandpiper, a Whimbrel, 8 Willow Warbler, 19 Chiffchaffs, 7 Sedge Warblers, 10 Blackcaps, 2 Goldcrests, 12 Redwings, 8 Fieldfares, 2 Redstarts, a Wheatear and 3 Bramblings. 

Some better vismig than of late saw 2 Stock Doves, 83 Wood Pigeons, 5 Marsh Harriers, a Kestrel, 11 Jackdaws, 26 Rooks, 50 Carrion Crows, 2 Skylarks, 101 Sand Martins, 23 Swallows, 3 House Martins, 2 Yellow Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, 8 Alba Wagtails, 45 Chaffinches, a Brambling, 36 Goldfinches, 51 Siskins, 2 Corn Buntings and 5 Yellowhammers head south. 

The Black Brant was again around the wetlands along with 2 Pale-bellied Brents, 490 Brent Geese, a Barnacle Goose, 2 hybrid Barnacle x Canadas, 32 Shovelers, 12 Gadwalls and 2 Pintails.

The best of todays sightings included a Red-rumped Swallow south at the warren and maybe another south a while later, 4 Garganey (1 female) on long bank and 2 male Redstarts (sammys, southfield farm) along with a nice scatter of spring migrants.

A frosty start soon warmed up leaving a nice spring day despite the F3 south east wind. Watches 0640-1000.

Several new additions to the year list were all very welcome including 2 Garganey (both drakes) on Kilnsea wetlands, a Whimbrel heading north, a House Martin heading south and a lovely male Redstart at Sammys. Other migrant totals as follows with 4 Sandwich Terns, a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Yellow Wagtails,14 Sand Martins, 3 Swallows, 31 Chffchaffs, 7 Blackcaps, 4 Redwings, 18 Robins, a Black Redstart, 8 Wheatears, 27 Siskiins which flew south and a Brambling.

The Black Brant was again on the wetlands with 2 Pale-bellied Brents and 100 Brent Geese plus 3 Pintails.

A nice day with plenty of sunshine and light south west winds. Watches 0630-1000

The day saw another first for the year with Sedge Warbler at southfield farm plus in the area 2 Little-ringed Plovers, 17 Chiffchaffs, a Firecrest, 6 Goldcrests, a Black Redstart, 8 Wheatears, single Brambling and 6 Siskins. 

There was very little on the move with 2 Great White Egrets heading south the most noteable while Black Brant, Pale-bellied Brent, 421 Brent Geese, 2 Whooper Swans, 22 Shovelers, 16 Gadwall and a Pintail around the ponds area.

Sunny spells with a few showers and a strong F7 south west wind. Watches 0540-1000

The first Ring Ouzel of the spring was around the gas terminal among a nice selection of migrants which included 2 Little-ringed Plovers, 9 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, a Firecrest, 18 Fieldfares. 2 Wheatears, a White Wagtail and Brambling. 

Over the sea a Great Northern Diver flew south while around the ponds a Black Brant and 2 Whooper Swans were present along with 3 Pintails and 26 Avocets.

A nice start before storm "Dave" came rolling in being very windy with a F8 south westerly and wet at times.  Watches 0645-1100,

There was a small increase in migrant numbers bringing our first Little-ringed Plover and Swallow of the spring plus 11 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps, 2 Firecrests, 2 Goldrests and 20 Siskins.

There was a ringtail Hen Harrier wandering the area, 3 Corn Buntings in the area, while over the sea 41 Common Scoters and 2 Sandwich terns.

Sunny spells with the odd shower with a strengthening F7 south west wind gusting. Watches 0650-1000

There were few observers out and about due to the charity bike ride and a difficult strong wind also. Migrants contributed with the first Yellow Wagtail of the spring and a Firecrest in chirchfield plus a Blackcap and a Wheatear. 

Other sightings included a blogging Great White Egret and the usual 2 Whooper Swans.

A cold cloudy start brightened up before clouding back up again with the wind swinging from N -F4 Westerly.  Watches 0645-1000

The day was stil about arrivals of spring migrnats including 3 Willow Warblers, 10 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, single Firecrest, 2 Goldcrests, 5 Redwings, a Black Redstart, 4 Wheatears and 2 Bramblings with 2 Sand Martins and 2 Siskins flying south.

Mostly cloudy with a very light westerly wind.  Watches 0645-1100

An arrival of spring migrants was most welcome including 2 Woodcocks, 3 Sand Martins, 16 Chiffchaffs, 4 Blackcaps, a Firecrest, 11 Goldcrests, 7 Fieldfares, a Black Redstart, 22 Wheatears, 4 Bramblings and 4 Siskins. 

Elsewhere the 2 Whooper Swans were still on Easington straight, a Green Sandpiper blogged the area, 3 Pintails on long bank and 15 Avocets around the ponds.
