The poor Warren Heligoland trap (repaired extensively in 2019) is now out of action due to the continued erosion south of the Warren, with the area where the catching box once stood now lost to the wave action.

As such, talks with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and SBOT directors and ringers have focussed on re-siting this historic trap northwards.

A work party over the weekend Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April will take down the Warren Heligoland and salvage useful lengths of timber. We are seeking volunteers, with the usual offer of free accommodation over the weekend and a cooked brunch for all volunteers.
