On January 13th 2020 Northern Powergrid will be disconnecting the electric supply to Sykes Field so that we can demolish the old store cabin where the meter is housed and replace it with a new unit. The demolition work is key to the programme and a work party is organised for January 18th to make this happen. It is an extremely tight programme of work so we are appealing to you all to help out during that weekend. If you can't make the weekend then anytime during the week after January 13th will do just to push the programme along. Northern Powergrid are restricting us to a maximum of a 3 week outage so we really do need all the help that we can get.

Come along and get involved in some rewarding, warming winter work to improve Spurn Bird Observatory land for wildlife and visitors. This winter period we will be particularly focussing on our newly acquired Sykes Field and also Corner Field. A cooked brunch and free accommodation is available for the Fri-Sat nights at the Observatory for all volunteers. All help welcomed and appreciated.
Work party days are generally 09:00 - 16:00.
