Spurn Wildlife 2020

We're excited to say that finally, Spurn Wildlife 30 (2020) is with the printers and should be delivered to the Obs' on 27th August!

16 August 2021

Just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend, so for all of our Friends of Spurn who will be around that weekend, please call into the Spurn Info Hub and collect your report.

Spurn Wildlife 30 contains the usual round up of records on the birds, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, moths and mammals that occurred in 2020, as well as articles on beetles in the northern part of the recording area, predictions on the next new bird species for the area, obituaries for Philip Ridsdale and John Wozencroft, how the Little Terns fared at Beacon Ponds, a Spurn Birder profile on Adam Hutt, spring migrant arrival dates and a focus on Starling ringing at Spurn. It features artwork from 13(!) different artists for you to enjoy, in addition to a serious amount of top quality photographers showcasing some of the best photographs taken in our area in 2020.

We'll start to post the rports out to our members who we know probably won't be visiting us autumn and keep hold of reports for those we know who visit us regularly. So don't forget to call into Kew Villa to see Paul or Jonnie if you are visiting in the next few weeks and pick up your report.

For those of you who have moved house in the last year/18 months and haven't told us of your address change, please do so now! Email us on info 'at' spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk so that you don't miss out on getting your Spurn Wildlife report!

For those of you who don't get a copy through your Friends of Spurn membership you can pre-order a copy on the website here
