The directors and committee of Spurn Bird Observatory are pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Jones as our new Operations Manager.

Tim will take up the role with immediate effect to help in strengthening the existing operations whilst at the same time searching out new opportunities to lead the Observatory into a bright future. This we believe will ensure that Spurn Bird Observatory continues to go from strength to strength and remain at the cutting edge of modern research and development. Whilst at the same time improving our bird recording efforts and providing our members and visitors with the very best experience.
Many of you will be familiar with Tim, who first started visiting the Spurn area in 2011 and was a resident volunteer in 2013 and 2014, before becoming involved with the production of the report in 2015 and joining the committee in 2016. He has visited plenty of other Observatories around the world including working at Ottenby, Sweden and volunteering at Long Point, Canada and IBRCE, Israel and we look forward to Tim getting stuck in and bringing his experience to the Observatory at Spurn.
