Ongoing work at Blue Bell Ponds

Rowan, crab apple and blackthorns have been laid along the perimeter border with Well Field to create a hedgerow over time.

A couple of willow strips will establish to provide migrant birds and other wildlife areas to forage and shelter. A small number of wild cherries and hornbeams have also been planted.

Many thanks must go to the local and visiting birders who helped us with this work, including Paul Willoughby of Bird Holidays tour company. Their very generous donation has made all this possible www.birdholidays.co.uk

We're really looking forward to developing this site more for wildlife. Access to this land is available for members of Friends of Spurn: https://www.spurnbirdobservatory.co.uk/support-us/
