A vacancy has arisen for the rewarding and potentially career-developing position of Seasonal Little Tern Warden at Beacon Lagoons Nature Reserve, East Yorkshire.
20 January 2020
The reserve is located at the base of the Spurn Peninsula and has been the site of a Little Tern colony for many years. An enhanced protection scheme has been in place since 2011 and in a number of recent years the colony has been one of the most successful in the north of England.
The vacancy offers a superb opportunity for an individual seeking a career in conservation to develop their skills and make a real difference to the conservation of one of our most threatened birds. The position is suitable for someone with practical conservation experience, species protection experience, good communication skills and preferably at least a basic knowledge of birds and monitoring. Some night time wardening will be necessary.
The contract will run from the 2nd week of April until mid-late August and pay will be at the going minimum rate. Accommodation is available at Spurn Bird Observatory for a small fee.
Applications need to be received by Monday 10th February 2020.
