A second vacancy has arisen for the rewarding and potentially career-developing position of Assistant Seasonal Little Tern Warden at Beacon Lagoons Nature Reserve, East Yorkshire.
05 March 2022
The reserve is located at the base of the Spurn Peninsula and has been the site of a Little Tern colony for many years. An enhanced protection scheme has been in place since 2011 and in a number of recent years the colony has been one of the most successful in the north of England.
This summer vacancy offers a superb opportunity for an individual seeking a career in conservation to develop their skills and make a real difference to the conservation of one of our most threatened birds. The position is suitable for someone with practical conservation experience, species protection experience, good communication skills and a basic knowledge of birds and monitoring. Experience of data recording and manipulation will be an advantage. Some night-time wardening will be necessary.
The contract will run from 1st June until mid/late August and pay will be at the national minimum wage/national living wage. Accommodation is available at Spurn Bird Observatory for a small fee.
Applications need to be received by Sunday 27th March 2022.
