At the end of the second national lockdown England will once again be entering localised 'tiers' corresponding to the infection rate of COVID-19 within the population.

From Wednesday 2nd December until at least the 16th December, the Spurn area falls under East Riding which is Tier 3.

Among other restrictions, those living within an area deemed alert level 'very high’ (Tier 3):
- Must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place.
- Must not socialise in a group of more than six outside, including in a garden or other spaces like beaches or parks (other than where specific exemptions apply in law).
We expect anyone in the Spurn area to be adhering to these guidelines, and making an extra effort to maintain social distancing, not congregating in groups or socialising outside of their household/’bubble’.
Among other restrictions, those living within an area deemed alert level 'very high’ (Tier 3):
- Must not meet socially indoors or in most outdoor places with anybody you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble, this includes in any private garden or at most outdoor venues.
- Must not socialise in a group of more than six in must not socialise in a group of more than 6 in some other outdoor public spaces, including parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public...etc.
- Avoid travelling outside the very-high alert level area you are in or entering a very-high alert level area, other than for things like work, education or youth services, to meet caring responsibilities or if you are travelling through as part of a longer journey.
- Avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if you are resident in a very-high alert level area, or avoid staying overnight in a very-high alert level area if you are resident elsewhere.
In Tier 3 areas, accommodation such as hotels, B&Bs, campsites, and guest houses must close. This means that the Observatory accommodation and facilities will remain closed until at least the 16th December.
