We have been constantly keeping up to date with the latest government guidance and reviewing our accommodation situation at the Observatory.

After the Prime Minister's press conference on 5th July 2021, we shall be opening the Observatory accommodation fully from July 19th onwards.
This means that individuals can book a bed in any of our shared hostel-style rooms, which they may be sharing with other guests. A pillow and mattress cover are provided but guests must bring their own bedding, except in the downstairs room where bedding is provided. Full information about the Observatory accommodation options can be found here, but a quick run down of rates etc. follows below.
A bed in our three upstairs rooms
£18 per person per night for members of Friends of Spurn, £22 PPPN for non- members, and £13 for gold star members*. If an individual is 21 years-old or under or in full time education at the time of staying then the rates will be £16.00 PPPN for FOS members or £20.00 PPPN for non-FOS members.
A bed in our downstairs bedroom
£21 per person per night for members of Friends of Spurn, £25 PPPN for non- members, £16 for gold star members* and £30 for single occupancy regardless of membership status. The minimum stay in this room for all weekends throughout the year including Fridays is two nights.
Exclusive use
The Observatory building can be booked out for your exclusive use in the off peak season (late November to mid March) for £150 per night (1-2 nights) or £125 per night (3+ nights).
Cancellation policy
You may cancel your reservation for no charge up to 14 days before the start of your booking. After this period, we ask that 50% of the booking be paid for.
*Members who have stayed for more than 25 nights in the previous calendar year.
We have retained some COVID-safe measures which will be part of our accommodation facility into the future.
Each guest will have to check out of their room by 11.00hrs on the day of departure and arrival check-in will only be allowed after 15.00hrs to allow for each room to be cleaned thoroughly.
No personal items can be left in the common room/bathrooms.
We encourage the use of Facemasks in communal areas.
We ask that you pay for your stay using our card machine with contactless payments encouraged.
There will be increased cleaning at the Observatory, as well as cleaning products available for use by guests staying at the Observatory.
NHS Test and Trace
We will keep our QR code and allow customers staying at the Observatory to check in using the NHS app, but this will no longer be mandatory.
