SPRING GUIDED WALKS

Now the weather is clearing up and the ground is drying out, we're delighted to open up the Spring Guided Walks again for 2024!

08 May 2024

Want a personal guide to show you all the exciting migrants that might be present or arriving around Spurn? This is the event for you!

We’ll take you around the most popular locations within a mile or so of the Bird Observatory, calling into Church Field where you can see some bird ringing if weather permits. There are two routes we take. If its high tide, we'll take you around Long Bank Marsh, Kilnsea Wetlands and Beacon Ponds, where you'll see good numbers of waders coming into breeding plumage, along with our recently arrived Little Terns and hopefully a few other species. We'll also see migrant passerines around the field edges and hedgerows, and along Beacon Lane. At low tide, take in the Triangle and look for migrant and breeding passerines, as well as waders out on the Humber mudflats.

Meet at the Observatory car park at the start time and you can pay cash or card on the day.

Come by public transport on the weekend and you'll get 20% off the price as well! Simply give your ticket to the guide to receive your discount.
